- Sign up bonus of $100 when you spend $2,000 or more in the first 90 days
- Card earns 2.5% cash back on all purchases
- No annual fee
Our Verdict
2.5% on all purchases makes this card interesting, especially with no annual fee as it’s one of the highest earning cards available. The $100 sign up bonus isn’t much but better than nothing. MIDFLORIDA also offers a $300 business checking bonus. If anybody decides to sign up for this card, please share your experiences in the comments below.
They are giving 2.0 % vs 2.5% cash back now 🙁
They have updated the max rewards per cycle to be $500, which is $20,000 spend I believe. I am talking to my local branch assist mgr to see where this was documented and when it took effect.
I’ve had checking and savings acct with them for 1 1/2 years. Could not apply online for this card (error message) but I went in branch and applied. Wasn’t approved while I was in the bank but got a call shortly after I left to say I was approved. Went back in the next day to get the physical card and finish up the paperwork. What was interesting is that you agree to give them a security interest on all accounts you have with them in case you default. Not an issue for me, but I don’t recall seeing those terms in any credit card agreement before. As far as banking with them, they are friendly, have deposited the fruits of MS with them in the past (doubt that I will continue to do that since I now have a nice cb card), but their customer service is SO slow. To do the drive through deposit thing will take at least 10 minutes even with all of the deposit slips filled out–they require you to list each check separately and if you have more than 4, you have to list the rest on the back and then add up the numbers on the back for a subtotal to put on the front….it’s kind of a pain b/c other banks just fill all that stuff out for me. Mobile deposit and ATM deposits of the fruits of MS does not work. The night depository drawer (which is the easiest to deal with) is broken at the nearest branch. For all these reasons, I haven’t done much banking with them in the past 6 months. But I am happy to have another 2.5 percent card. They used to always ask me at the drive thru if I wanted to open a cc with them when it was 1.5 percent and I told them they would have to increase the cb limit to at least 2 percent. Well, they did! DP: My last set of cc apps was back in Jan.; I think I have an 790 -805 credit score depending on whose free reporting service you look at. Chase credit journey notified me of a new inquiry within an hour of my first visit to apply and Discover notified me the next day.
They pulled Experian for me and require me to go in branch and sign some documents. Also asked me to send over last two pay stubs.
It will be hard to get it if you do less than 40k /year, since the min credit line is 5k. You also need 730+ of credit score.
I’m actually close to a branch. This would be very useful for trips to my local Simon Mall. Lemme get my Chex straightened out and get the new account SUB then this card.
You will have to be physically close to one of their locations to come in branch and sign documents
Tried to apply, asked for pay stub after doing a hard pull! Not sure I’ll be going thru with this one.
I tried to sign up for a membership account, but my Florida Driver’s License address is outside their service area. Is this going to require a call in to their office to open an account?
I don’t think you can join if you’re not in one of those areas.
Thanks. I called in on a whim and was told the same thing. I’ve emailed a branch manager to plead my case as the answer I got from the CSR was soft and came across as a little unsure.
they pull experian for membership I called yesterday
thanks I may give it a go this week. I am hesitant since I did the USAA 2.5% a while back then USAA got rid of that. If it sticks around without having the terms change and lowered to 2% its worth it.
I still have my USAA 2.5% Limitless, just because they closed applications doesnt mean they canceled all the cards…
They pulled Equifax when I joined recently.
