FNBO Launches New FordPass Rewards Visa Card (Earn $200 Statement Credit Annually)

First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO) has launched a new co-branded credit card with Ford called the ‘FordPass Rewards Visa Card‘.

Card Basics

  • Sign up bonus of a $100 statement credit when you spend $3,000 within your first 3 billing cycles after your account is opened
  • $200 statement credit every year when you spend $6,000 in 12 consecutive billing cycles after account opening
  • No annual fee
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 5% back in points on Ford Dealership purchases
    • 3% back on gas, auto insurance, tolls, parking and dining
    • 1% back in points on all other purchases
  • 0% introductory APR for six months on Ford Dealership purchases over $499

How Much Are Points Worth?

  • 7,500-mile service: Oil & filter change, tire rotation and multi point inspection
    • Members Redeem: Gas: 11,000 Points; Diesel: 20,000 Points
  • 15,000-mile service: Oil & filter change, tire rotation and multi point inspection
    • Members Redeem: Gas: 11,000 Points; Diesel: 20,000 Points
  • 22,500-mile service: Oil & filter change, cabin air filter, tire rotation and multi point inspection
    • Members Redeem: 20,000 Points; Diesel: 35,000 Points

Our Verdict

The most interesting part of this card is the $200 statement credit when you spend $6,000. If you spend exactly $6,000 that works out to be an additional 3.33% cash back. The terms are a bit strange as it states it’s a $200 statement credit but then the foot note states that points are not redeemable for cash. It seems that’s just talking about the points earned from general spend and not the $200 statement credit benefit directly.

I can’t see that $200 benefit lasting too many years if I’m being completely honest, but even if you get one year that’s $300 in bonuses. Because of that I’ll be adding this to the list of the best credit card sign up bonuses.

@doc – I received an email offer for $100 credit and 11k points after one purchase posts. This stacks on top of $100 credit for 3k spend and additional $200 credit for 6k. So $400 CB. I applied and was approved.

Does the $3000 spend requirement count towards the $6000 for the first year, or do you need to spend $9000 to get the $300?

Can someone help me understand this card. It seems like if you don’t have a Ford vec or want to spend money on Ford things, you can’t cash out the 200 every year in any way. Did i get that right?

> you can’t cash out the 200 every year in any way. Did i get that right?

Nope. that’s wrong. As soon as you pass the spending threshold, you automatically get a statement credit of 200$. I use the card and never visit Ford dealerships and service centers.

Can someone explain how $200 statement works?
Let’s say I opened this card in Jul 2022. If I spend $6000 in Sep 2022 will I get $200 credit right away? Next, let’s say Jan 2023 now. Can I spend another $6000 to get the bonus right away or do I need to wait and spend $6000 in Oct 2023 (12+ months from Sep 2022) so I get $200 bonus?

> do I need to wait and spend $6000 in Oct 2023 (12+ months from Sep 2022) so I get $200 bonus?

It’s this. The clock starts for me in 1 year since i opened my card. i know you probably preferred the other scheme but its a little messy in that regard. so for these cards its actually optimal to open them in the month of January of any year.

The $200/yr statement credits are good but correct me if i’m wrong – the reward point redemption values (1 point = $00.005) are trash on this..

$1,000 gas spend = 3,000 rewards points = $15 redemption value = 1.5% back

Citi double is better

I have this card, you are wrong. The promotional material does a poor job explaining this. Yes the points are only worth half a cent, however you earn enough points to equal the %back. So 3% back on gas is actually 6 points per dollar.

William Charles , Ford has released the Lincoln Access Rewards Visa Card. It’s similar to the FordPass Rewards Visa Card with a few different reward categories and no foreign transaction fee.

Is the $6000 spend every year for $200 statement credit in 1 year or every month ?

It’s $6000 spend within 12 cycles, cumulative. So you can clear it with $500/mo over the year.

I got notice in the mail that my card was closed. I had it open for almost half a year,. Their reason was “Excessive Inquiries”. They didn’t know this when they ran my credit? Lesson, hit MSR fast on this and get your $200, because you might get shut down out of nowhere.

Applied today and got instantly approved. Looks like a great card if the $200 bonus every year keeps going.
