A few years ago they had a straight discount on third party gift cards, but the store I went to didn’t accept credit card payment. I find their prices higher than their competitors, so I won’t be doing this deal, or the Cyber Monday deal they have (buy a $100 store gift card, get a free $25 gift card, limit 5).
I think that may have even been last year. I know they’ve had it in at least a few years for the after-Thanksgiving ad. My local Foodtown takes credit cards for gift cards, so it was a nice immediate 20% discount + credit card rewards on Amazon, gas cards, etc., without having to then spend a voucher. As you mentioned, with the voucher, it’s not really a great deal since their prices are so much higher than other grocery stores in the area. I usually just look at the front page of the weekly ad; that’s where you’ll occasionally find good deals, but the rest of the ad is usually pretty meh.
Does anyone know if the $20 coupon can be used to buy further gift cards? Or groceries only?
It should be noted that Foodtowns are independently owned & operated, so they don’t all participate in the same promotions.
