Get $10 Reward When You Made $20+ CVS Purchase With Paypal or Venmo App

Update 7/10/22: Deal is back (ht GCG)

The Offer

Direct Link to offer

  • Paypal is offering a $10 reward when you make a $20+ purchase at CVS using the the Paypal app (QR code).

The Fine Print

  • Offer ends 3/31/20
  • Reward must be used by 4/30/21

Our Verdict

Easy enough to buy a $20 gift card at CVS and trigger this $10 credit. Sounds like we’ll get a $10 Paypal credit which can be used on any Paypal purchase before 1/31/21, but I’m not entirely clear.

Based on the fine print, it looks like:
• You can do this once per PayPal account.
• You must make the CVS purchase by 12/12/20. Then redeem the $10 credit by 1/31/21.
• Personal and Premier PayPal accounts will show the earned $10 credit in the “offers” section of the account. Business PayPal accounts will only show the $10 credit next time you are checking out with PayPal.
• In any case, the $10 credit is supposed to automatically apply next time you buy something with PayPal usIng PayPal checkout.
• While you must scan your QR code at CVS to earn the $10 credit, you can actually redeem the credit via standard PayPal checkout (i.e. PayPal button).

I just set up my PayPal QR code. I should be able to try this out in the next couple of days. Looks like an easy $10. Thanks for the post Doc!

I am thinking that since I never verified my Paypal account by linking a bank account that I won’t be eligible for this offer.

Atexit8, You do NOT need to have a verified bank account. (i.e. a Paypal Cash account) I simply have my Chase Freedom linked to PayPal. Used the app to buy $20 worth of stuff at CVS (not gift cards or Amazon cash reload) and immediately got the $10 Paypal reward. I did not have to activate anything on Paypal or load an offer to my PayPal wallet. Ridiculously easy. Thanks Chuck for letting us know!

To use the mobile app, i need to add mobile phone. I add one and verify it at paypal.com. When I try to validate that same number in the app, it says the number is not supported. Not sure why. Any ideas?

Google voice number/any other VOIP numbers are not accepted, probably.

Just to “second” what Aaron M experienced on the 5th, this offer is indeed still active. I made a purchase at CVS today, 12/13/22, using the QR code in the PayPal app and got my receipt email and a confirmation from PayPal about $10.00 cash back added to my account within the same minute. (And I also currently have PayPal connected to Chase Freedom for that added 5% bonus–cool beans.)

FYI this is still active on PayPal. Helped someone do the pay w/ QR today at CVS. Bought $25 Amazon GC, got the $10 PP credit and email instantly. Used Chase Freedom for additional 5% back.

No need to load offer to PP account. If you’re eligible per terms the offer works.

Venmo deal is gone, though. It used to show under ‘Featured QR Offers’ from Settings –> Rewards and Offers. IIRC it had to be loaded?

7/22 $25 Amazon gift card
7/26 $10 back in Venmo

Actually on my first attempt I set up payment and stopped at CVS. Found the gift cards, walk towards register…Venmo app won’t generate QR code. Spent 20 minutes there trying to fix to no avail. Next day I made sure QR code was working before I went to CVS. Couldn’t use self checkout, payment just fails. Worked fine with the cashier.

I tried this to get $25 amazon gc and received an email saying the offer is declined due to a misuse. My friend got his cash back for the same thing. Odd…

DP: I did this offer a while back. It popped up on my Paypal app. Tried it in store for a $20 Target gift card and the $10 rebate did not pop up. Guessing you can’t double dip.

Can we do this offer again if we have done it in the past?

If we have done this offer in the past are we able to churn it since it’s a new round?

Is this a new offer that is independent from past ones? I have used such offer 3 months ago, wonder if I can do it again.

It seems like if we’ve already redeemed this offer before, we can’t do it again.

Yeah, it is showing for me but not “saveable” this time. Did that offer in April and not sure I can do it again.
