Our Verdict

Anyone have any idea how to get targeted on eBay. I’ve tried everything and signed up for every email.

I do this and seem always to be targeted
Same, I ONLY buy during Bucks promotions, or coupons, unless it’s something incredibly urgent.
I rarely buy stuff on ebay (roughly every month or so) while no promotion but I do sell
Not targeted, and haven’t been for the past few. I am signed up for the emails. (And got the Amex $10/50 email). I have had a decent amount or organic non-targeted spending on eBay recently. Wanting to by some sealed MTG stuff, and waiting for one of these promos to come around… for anyone targeted, has you account been pretty dormant prior?
I registered for bucks in the spring/ early summer and spent pretty heavily at the time (maybe $10,000), and I was not eligible for any of the 4-5 bucks promotions they ran in July/August/September. Haven’t spent much of anything there since then, and finally just got targeted for my first bucks promotion this time around (maxed out the $500 this time).
I have an unsubstantiated suspicion that doing a lot of spend might cause them to pass you over for the next round of promotion, that it’s targeted towards those more dormant accounts. Some other high spenders here were also complaining about not getting targeted in the few prior rounds.
I think it was because there was a correlation between some MTG stuff and tcgplayer sale which caused an extremely high amount of sales
And also unusual due to being in a Bucks redemption period.
