Still hard to see if the iPad mini is worth it at this price. If it had palm rejection and apple pencil support so I could take notes on it, maybe.

I ordered my 128gb iPad Mini on Walmart and then used Citi price rewind to Best Buy price black friday $250. The Citi phone lady was very harsh to talk to lol.

$150 off the MSRP of $399.99 on both models. 37.5% off. Seems like a very high discount for anything Apple that’s not generations-old or refurb. I bet Apple is sponsoring this (eating most of the discount themselves), for it to appear at the same price point on both sites’ deals, because Apple’s sales have been declining lately. Probably hoping that buying an iPad will be the ‘gateway drug’ to get more people into wanting an iPhone too.

The iPad MIni actually *IS* generations old…its 3+ year-old technology just wrapped in a container that was cosmetically refreshed (barely) in 2015.

Price direct from Apple is $429, so $249 isn’t bad….but it’s pretty old gear.

There have been some rumors that an iPad Mini refresh may come this spring, then again, there are also very persistent rumors that Apple hates the iPad Mini and wants to just end-of-life it.

Target’s electronics return policy is not good. I would never, ever buy electronics there – they really do enforce “once it’s open, the problem is all yours.”

Thanks for the tip about Target – I have the Redcard so I was able to get it for even less.

A 32gig iPad should be illegal. People don’t realize how little storage that is nowadays, and forget about for the future.

Any significant drawbacks between this and the iPad Pro?

This is quite a bit less powerful than the Pro. That said, the non-Pro version is decent if you’re an iPad fan. I’m not, but my wife is!

I see it’s shipped and sold by Amazon.com (as opposed to FBA). IIRC (and according to Keepa), Amazon itself has not been selling iPads for a while.

If I’m correct, good bit of info to file away as an occasional iPad reseller – competition might be stiffer. Of course if I’m wrong I’m sure someone will let me know 😉

They started last month and bad news for iPad sellers because, as of January, Apple sellers on eBay need to be official with Apple as resellers. If not, Amazon will end those listings.

Amazon has the power to end eBay listings?

That doesn’t make sense. Amazon ending ebay listings? Even if that’s a typo and you meant ebay ends listings, that is counterintuitive.

People are so silly on here. The discussion was all about Amazon, and he (Charlie) mistyped eBay instead of Amazon. There…. make sense now? This was a huge post when it was announced last month……………

Thanks, Elmer! You are right! Hands went independent of the brain for a second there. 🙂
