Gift Card Deals at Kroger-Chain Stores (Nike, TGI, JC Penny, Bass Pro)

The Offer

Direct Link

There’s a digital coupon found in your Kroger account online to get $10 off the purchase of two select gift cards. Other stores that are part of the Kroger brand are finding this offer as well.

  • TGI Friday’s
  • Nike
  • JC Penny It seems that $25 is the smallest denomination. After the $10 discount, it will be $40 for $50 in gift cards.
  • Bass Pro There appears to be $15 denomination gift cards available, so a $30 purchase should get $10 off.

You may also be able to earn fuel points on the purchase, although gift cards don’t always earn points.

The Fine Print

  • Expires 6/20/15
  • Must download coupon
  • Unclear if the coupon can be reloaded after use to be able to use a second time

Our Verdict

If you can find low denomination gift cards, these deals can be nice discounts.

For resale purposes, the Nike offers seems like the best one since you can resell those cards for ~85% of its value.

The big question here is whether this offer is scalable by reloading the coupon over and over again. Let us know if you have success with that.

HT: Slickdeals and Saverocity

Remember also that you can download a coupon to get 2x fuel points on all ordinary purchases made over the weekend. Deal is valid until August.

Thanks for heads up Chuck. We just need a 4x fuel pts on gift cards weekend to land here before June 20. The fuel points is the real MS angle for Kroger if you have a family.

Warning- If you are planning to sell to Saveya.com or Giftcards.com- DO NOT buy $15 value cards. These sister companies will not accept cards with value less than $20

Also Cardpool I believe has some kind of limitation too.
Giftcardzen is the best bet for lower denominations.

Thanks Doc. Bass Pro Shops and TGIF gc’s are $15-$500 and Nike gc’s are $25-$500 at my local Kroger, so I got those. Not enough margin on the JCPenny ones.

I used the Sallie Mae to add some more margin. When ignoring postage costs, that’s a $12.70 profit from the coupon and Sallie Mae cash back for 15.875%.
Of course you can’t exactly ignore postage costs, but the more cards per order, the lower the postage cost per churn.
