Standard practice at any of their locations. Security precaution to make sure the person matching the dl is standing at the counter to buy the card which over an amount that requires extra care. There also more precaution taking place to stop fraud ( a thief using your card he stole).
I bought a $495 Vanilla VGC at CVS to allow there to be funds for the purchase fee. You probably could just pay the fee with cash too.

Have fun working with this company. They are a joke. I placed an order in round two of this which was 12/9. My order still says processing and I paid for two day shipping. It was estimated to ship on 12/13 I called on Friday and they sent it to level two. I called again yesterday and nothing. I went ahead and cancelled the order yesterday as this is bs. They have had my money for a week and they said it can take upto 15 days to return.
Proceed with caution.
Sorry you had a problem but I have not. I think with a deal like this you need some patience, the attitude that it may or may not work, and the ability to float the money while the order is processing. Otherwise I wouldn’t play this game
Does your order say cancelled when you check the status on your order history page? If it does, how long did it take to say cancelled after you cancelled your order?
They’re not joking about 15 day return either. I cancelled an order from 12/04 because the discount didn’t go through and they wouldn’t apply the discount after the fact. I called to cancel on 12/8 – have not gotten my money back yet on day 12. On the other hand, I’ve been lucky and gotten 5 orders in since then, all with discount.
Did you receive your money back yet? I am still waiting for my refund and it’s been a month.
