[Expired] GrubHub (Food Delivery): $20 Off $20+, New Users Only [AZ, CA, CO, CT, D.C., FL, GA, IL, MD, MA, NC, NJ, NY, PA, TX, UT, VA, WA, RI]

This unfortunately now shows $7 off $14. Updated as expired.

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Get $20 off your first order of $20 or more (before tax & tip) with GrubHub when you enter your e-mail and zip code and agree to receive marketing materials

The Fine Print

  • Code will expire 14 days from when your e-mail is submitted
  • Valid for first time Grubhub users only (per person and per email address).
  • For one-time use only. Cannot be combined with other discounts.
  • To redeem, enter code at checkout on Grubhub’s website and app (cannot be combined with cash), and $20 will be taken off of minimum orders of $20, before tax, tip and delivery fee.
  • Only valid on personal (non-corporate) accounts.

Our Verdict

Code takes some time to come through, so please be patient. This should be basically a free meal (you’ll need to pay slightly more than $20 as that is the requirement before tax), still a great deal. You can view a list of cities they deliver to here. Some cities have a lot of places with free delivery and others seem to have basically none, you can also use it for pick up orders as well. Standard Referral bonus $7 off, so this is significantly better than that.

Empty Comment. Sorry couldn’t figure out how to delete

The item shows “sold out”, it also shows “RSVP for $10 off your first order of $15” instead of $20 off $20. There’s an option to be waitlisted, I’ll try it, whats the worst that can happen?

I think you’re on the wrong site. It should not be the gilt site but: https://partnership.grubhub.com/equity-residential/

just used the code received in email and placed my order successfully,

assuming your order is exactly at $20, you need to pay tax and tips which comes to about $5. Of course sales tax varies and tips ranges from 15% to 30% as well. The number is for reference only. For me, out of pocket price $5 for that much of food is really good!

2nd day, paid another $4.5 for a value of $20 food, different email, different cell phone number, used a prepaid card that is less than $20 left

Just as a warning I had an account using a different email before and use a different email, I received an email saying that I had another account and was charged the $20 for the full price. I chatted with them and told them that I never used the other account (which is true) and that I simply forgot about it and created a new one. They were able to manually refund me the $20 again but be careful…. I guess they saw same name and phone number?

Might be tracking cc number?

Daniel

I believe they track by both CC and phone number (and email)

DP: Can confirm they track by phone number. I was using a new email and new CC but wasn’t able to use the promo code. I changed my phone number and it worked fine. Added correct phone number in the notes. No signs of $20 discount clawback. Will update if anything changes, but seems to have gone through.

Just placed another Grubhub Order using a different email address and a different phone number, but same CC. Went through fine. Hopefully they won’t take away the discount later.

I paid with Android Pay (Chase Freedom) both today and yesterday – that’s the only reason why I used the same CC. Wanted to take advantage of the 5% Cash Back as well.

@M: did you notice any changes on your CC account or if Grubhub took away the discount? Maybe an email from them or if you see any changes on your Grubhub Order History online as well?

I would just use a prepaid card that is less than $20 balance left, this way in case the coupon $20 wouldn’t apply, the transaction would be declined instead of being charged for full price

Did anyone else get the code to apply, only to later receive an error at checkout?

This works for pickup as well so no need for delivery charge or tip. Ordered $20 of take out Chinese for just $1.56 in tax!

Tried to get an additional code for my son, at a different email address and never received the welcome $20 email.

Maybe it’s now dead?

Only 2 places by me, and one of them has a $35 delivery fee.

Don’t forget to use the app and pay with Apple Pay or Chase Pay to stack with the 5% Chase Freedom mobile payment cashback.

Ordered from the best Chinese place in town for a pickup. Just cost me $1.79 for food enough to last two meals! Thanks DoC. There are around 60 places near me on Grubhub, will try tomorrow with a new CC, email and phone to see if it works!
