[Expired] H-E-B: Buy $50+ In Visa Giftcards & Get $10 H-E-B Giftcard

Deal has ended, view more H-E-B deals by clicking here.

The Offer

Direct Link to offer

  • H-E-B grocery chain is offering a free $10 H-E-B store gift card when you buy $50 or more in Vanilla Visa gift cards with digital coupon.

The Fine Print

  • Limit 1 per phone number with digital coupon.
  • Expires 7/28/20.

Our Verdict

The direct link above implies the coupon is only valid on the $50 denomination, but the in-store ad states ‘$50 or more’ and shows a picture of 3 options – I think it’s the $50, $100, and $20-$500 variable-load cards. Please confirm if you’ve tried.

We’ve seen HEB offer this kind of deal many times before. In the past, buying a variable-load card, e.g. a $500 card, worked for some, but not for others. Yet others are told they can’t use a credit card at all, only debit.

Confirmed works with variables. Picked up a $500 Vanilla and the $10 HEB GC came off no problem.

@veeRob I am new to Austin texas area. Does HEB allow purchasing MO with gift cards? Thank you for being kind.

I wish! The few times I tried I got the “can I see the card, please?” — no dice, I’m not doing the card switcheroo.

Does anyone know if these HEB Deals are also good at Central Markets? That is the only convenient option in my area. Apologies if this has been asked and answered before

Central Market doesn’t have the same yellow in-store coupons so it wouldn’t work

I continue to wonder how they are making money off of this? I’m sure there are some instances where people don’t use their gift card (or forget about it, lose it, etc…). But still… Were talking a 20% discount on a $50 gift card.

Unlike other gift cards – grocery store gift cards are EASY to use because you continue to return to them week after week…. Vs. Restaurant gift cards that I’ve had since the beginning of time just because I haven’t had an opportunity to go to those restaurants.

The load fee is like $5.95. Plus breakage, plus 1 per account
