Deal has expired, view more Harris Teeter deals by clicking here.

The Offer

  • Harris Teeter has a coupon to save on Visa or Mastercard gift cards:
    • Save $5 on $100 Visa or Mastercard gift cards
    • Save $3 on $50 Visa or Mastercard gift cards
    • Save $2 on $25 Visa or Mastercard gift cards

After the discount, I believe the activation fee cost will be down to just 95 cents.

The Fine Print

  • Valid August 16th – 18th only

Our Verdict

This coupon should be unlimited uses, according to reader RD. You might earn fuel points on the purchase as well. Be sure to use a credit card that earns at a high rate on grocery store purchases.

Paying .95 for a 100$ is still too expensive. Why greenlight this bad deal?

Who said anything about “greenlighting?” Cool thing about this venerable site is the DoC duo alerts us to various deals, sometimes offers an unbiased perspective/opinion/verdict, yet as much as not, leaves it to readers to see/test if it makes sense to them….. (In my case, I’m keen to figure out if H/T & Kroger fuel points “mix” or not)

As pointed out, discerning readers will recognize the benefit of another 5/6% off if one uses certain credit cards…. (not everyone will have that, or may elect to reserve that capacity for other deals….) Some of us drive a lot; use much gas; still others get legacy free phone minutes…. But many will concur with you, travel elsewhere, and take a hard pass — and that’s just fine. 🙂

Using a 5% card nets $4.10. Times 5 is $20.15. That gets you 1000 fuel points, which gets you $1/gallon discount up to 35 gallons max. No limit on # of cards. Bad deal?

Cost is $5.95 here, so slightly better than getting variable $500 but not much; except Fuel points should be credited. But my e-coupon says “limit one coupon per customer”- so one time use only but it also specifies “redeemable up to 5 times in one transaction”.

I would just pass of it since 100 mcgc/cost 6.95 make it not so much differece than a 505.95vgc

Interesting this is not (yet) showing via Kroger. Have a H-T located in same shopping center as a Kroger, here in Hoo’ville — as such, wondering if H/T and Kroger points merge? I ask in part as last year I was able to earn points at King Sooper in Denver (using my Kroger card) — then buying discounted gas out there with Kroger points…. Will it work the same way ith H/T — or are they (Kroger & H/T) distinct fuel point programs?

(I’ve been wondering the same thing, btw, with Martin’s/Giant/Stop & Shop )

I earned Kroger points at a Harris Teeter this past weekend by entering my “Alt ID” (phone number) in Virginia Beach
