One of the most common complaints from readers is that we post too much and keeping track of all the different deals and posts is time consuming. I totally get that, everybody has different priorities and time constraints and we do post a lot – that’s great for people with the spare time but not so good for people that can only spare 15 minutes a day to track the latest deals.
Whenever people e-mail me with this complaint, I always give them one piece of advice which I think deserves a mention on this blog as well. Read Mile Nerd! I think his tagline sums up the site perfectly: “Just the most miles in the fewest words possible” and that’s exactly what the site delivers. It’s just one post a day (usually not during weekends) and highlights the best deal of the day. It’s extremely easy to keep track and you’re only getting the best offers so no need to weed through the lesser offers that you probably don’t have time for anyway. The “Why” section of the website also does a pretty good job explaining the site:
Why are mile/point websites so complicated (and shady)? Why can’t I find one that cuts the fat, posting only the best deals? Is there an honest, easy-to-read blog to earn miles & points? Yeah. You’re on it! New posts 5 days a week. No comments. No social media. No frills. Email me any questions, comments, or suggestions. Enjoy!
He also doesn’t use affiliate links, which mean his best credit card page isn’t influenced by any possible commission. There isn’t a lot of discussion about each deal and there aren’t any comments, so my suggestion would be to read Mile Nerd and then if a deal interests you head back over here (or your favorite forum) to read a more in depth analysis of the deal and get any questions you might have answered.
Hopefully after a few months, you’ll realize how profitable this hobby truly is and decide to devote a bit more time to it – then you can read Doctor of Credit daily to get all the latest deals and news.
Note: I didn’t receive any compensation for writing this post, I just like to highlight sites that I think are worth reading and think this site could be helpful for those with limited time. I’ll do another post soon about blogs and forums to join if you’re interested in manufactured spending.
