The Offer
Direct link to offer (our affiliate link)
- Max is offering $2.99 per month for six months
Our Verdict
This is an ad supported plan and enrolls you into auto billing so remember to cancel. Can go through a portal for additional cashback or use our link to support the site.
is this covered on amex digital entertainment credit? or just hulu with an add on of max
u need a full bundle thru hulu which is 17$ for amex to cover it.
Went to cancel my existing membership with ads, got this offer in the process. Saved me a few clicks
I decided to do this to trigger a US Bank credit, but I did try watching a few 30 minute episodes and the ads are pretty annoying imo. Couple preroll ads + 3? breaks of 3 ads each per episode. It could just be me not being used to ads anymore but ugh…
The Capital One Shopping Portal Black Friday event portal is showing $36 cashback so could be a small money maker for the 6 month
Shows “upto $36” but there doesn’t seem to be a way to see the terms/tiers. Anyone know how to find those ?
Yeah I am not sure if will post, but if you have the extension installed and go through the BF/Cyber portal it does specifically say “Monthly with Ads$36” in the extension
Ah, thanks for the followup info. I had $16 back via C1 offers (credit card) and used that.
I found this (from the desktop website, go to Events, “Shop Black Friday Offers Now!” and then scroll down to the tile, or click left 11 times or so). It concerns me that it says “Get up to $36 back on purchases” without specifying any terms (i.e., is the $36 for an annual subscription; do I need to make a minimum purchase amount).
Posted above, but if you have the extension installed and go through the BF/Cyber portal it does specifically say “Monthly with Ads$36” in the extension
Did it track for you?
I tried this, though I’m doubtful that the $36 is for the monthly plan (I don’t see any terms for the $36). Though, even their regular $4.50 offer for the monthly plan is a small money maker. So I clicked through the $36 offer and signed up for the monthly plan. But as of a couple hours later, it hasn’t tracked yet (Capital One often never tracks for me).
The next day, Capital One Shopping shows $36 pending (from my $2.99 monthly purchase), so maybe it worked.
Expected Payout Date is February 28 2025. If I cancel the Max subscription before then, will I lose the rewards?
Just my two cents, I bit on this deal last year, found the ads excessive and ended up upgrading to the ad-free version
Anything good coming out in that timeframe?
You can subscribe in the Android app using your Google Play balance if you have a balance to use up.
Thanks Mike – I’m so glad I saw your comment before clicking submit. This will now be free for me and a great use of rewards credits, many of which would have otherwise likely expired unused.
I see $16 back through Capital One Offers (the portal built into their credit card website). I saw $4.5 back through Capital One Shopping.
I found the “up to $16 back” on Capital One Offers, but there is no terms. I’m afraid that the maximum cash back is for more expansive plans.
Capital One Offers shows me “Monthly with Ads $16” and “Everything Else $0.”
Where in Capital One Offers do you see that description? Mine only shows “up to $16 cash back”
I log into Capital One, click on my credit card account, click “View All Offers” from the horizontal Shopping Offers tiles, then click on the Max tile. It shows a popup that shows Monthly with Ads $16 and Everything Else $0. But I was able to get see the $36 for Monthly with Ads using the browser extension per Bushe’s comment above, so I’m gonna try that too.
And an hour or two after I signed up under the $36 offer through the browser extension, Capital One Shopping emailed me an offer for $54 for Monthly with Ads.
