How often are these offers available?
Anyone else get stopped at SCO and an employee has to come over and say “Nothing at bottom of cart”?
That started happening during last week’s Mastercard deal. The kiosk screen locks and calls an attendant. The attendant said the scale didn’t sense any weight. This didn’t happen before so I’m guessing it’s because of a system update.

William Charles, offer is back, expires 08/24
Heads up: I just saw some Visa cards with a $7.95 fee on them ($200 and $20-$200 cards).
boooooo
Just did this today. My Meijer is in a shitty part of town so apparently no one cares about this. Tons of MasterCard GCs left and I checked out $500 at self checkout with no hassle. Very good for me because I’m trying to get a spend bonus currently and this will keep me from going past the time limit.
The Meijer I go to is in a pretty good area and there are always Mastercard and Visa. They keep the gift card racked pretty well stocked with all cards. I think most MSers stick with Staples and OD/OM.
As I like to liquidate asap in case of the chance of bankruptcy and also it works good on groceries as buying with gift card you cannot change back if needed vs. getting a defective appliance (now I tend to go to the better service local stories anyways after a fiasco with one of the major three area home center stores on trying to get another sent out). On the Original post good to get it now as have also had to go though identity verification after trying to get a big gift card. It can take up-to a couple of weeks to process. Been churning Discover. Last quarter was gas stations which get the gift card at the Express to end up using in store. Now it is buy in supermarkets to use the other way around.
Deal is back, through 7/13.
Just found that my local Meijer has removed all of the visa Mastercard from the rack. Could not find it anywhere in the store.
If the gc racks still have a ‘place holder’ for them, they should get restock. Inquire with an associate or store manager. Maybe somebody had a field day and just cleared them out?
There is no place holder for them. Instead, they added so many Happy cards to the rack.
Some stores moved their visa/MasterCard behind the service desk. Might be worth an ask.
Either behind the desk, or in a rack just outside the desk, the second ‘hidden’ rack that contains Visa, MC, Meijer GC, and a few select others I’m always looking for.
awhle back my local Meijer put all the visas and mastercards behind service desk so you have to purchase there.
Just found out I can go back to buying these at the checkout rather than the service counter, but with a caveat: no “high” dollar amounts because those lock up the system. I don’t know for sure what that limit is, but one service rep said someone was purchasing $250 the other day and it took them a good while to unfreeze the self checkout machine so that it would go through.
Another tidbit on this subject: the 5-items-or-less self checkouts at my Meijer still have the older pads by Verifone–whereas the customer service desk and the bigger self-checkout lanes have the Ingenico pads–and I can choose to ring up my gebits as either debit or credit. (No longer is such a choice possible with the Ingenico pads.)
I wish my Meijer had a 5 items or less line, no such luck. Just the new machines when they remodeled a year or so ago where everyone brings in a full cart. But haven’t had any issues buying $500 Visa/MC cards there.
$999 through self checkout at mine. Above that requires override.
Saw this coupon again valid thru 3/2/24
