Head For Points has found a job advertisement from Hotels.com the position is for Sr. Manager, Loyalty Strategy and one of the responsibilities is:
- Based on a strong grounding in the competitive landscape, you will develop a launch strategy for a new co-brand credit card, and provide ongoing account management for the product
The position is based in London and Expedia has an office based in the United States so you’d have to imagine that this for a UK based card. This isn’t the first time that a LinkedIn job posting has given us information about a new cobranded card, back in 2015 Barclaycard put up an advertisement for somebody to manage the JetBlue portfolio. I love Hotels.com (you can see why here). You’d have to imagine that if a cobranded card worked well in the UK they would have to seriously consider a US offering as well.
That being said I’m not that hyped about a Hotels.com co-branded card unless it had a significant sign up bonus as one of the main ways to save on the site is through heavily discounted gift cards. Would you like to see a Hotels.com card? What benefits would it need for you to apply?
