As we know Amazon Prime Day will run on June 21 & 22 and we’ve already seen a number of deals in the lead up that require Amazon Prime membership. Below are a list of ways to get a discounted or free Prime membership.
Free Membership
- Students with a valid .edu e-mail address can get 6 months of Amazon prime for free. I believe this only works for new memberships
- If you’ve never had prime before anybody can get a free 30 day trial (our affiliate link)
Discounted Membership
- EBT or Medicaid users can get a discounted monthly membership for $5.99 (our affilate link)
- Yearly subscriptions cost $119, but you can go through a portal and get $15 Amazon gift card (Topcashback, Swagbucks, and MyPoints are currently offering that)
- Not discounted, but monthly memberships are available for $12.99 (our affiliate link) if you don’t want to commit to a year.
I’m sure I’ve missed some methods, so please share any that I have missed in the comments below. For a full list of Amazon deals and discounts click here.
” go through a portal and get $15 Amazon gift card “, which portal?
I just checked cashbackmonitor.com and topcashback would be one portal offering this
Thanks! Was eligible for a free 30 day trial just in time for Amazon Prime Day!
If you’re Navy Federal CU Flagship cardholder they are offering to reimburse you if you pay for annual membership Prime with that cc. I had this offer last year and I have it now. Last time worked like a charm.
You can now pay for Prime using an Amazon gift card so that opens up quite a few options for discounts.
For the $15 Amazon gift card deals on Topcashback and Mypoints, it says “Excludes Existing Prime Members, Prime Student.” On Topcashback, I’m seeing $10 back on Gift of Prime, which can be used for renewals.
I saw a one week trial for 1.99 clicking on the link +
Congratulations! You just unlocked $5 in shopping credits!
, you’re eligible for in Amazon shopping credits!
Your $5 is eligible for items sold and shipped by Amazon when order total is at least $10. Credit expires in 30 days.
Student discount gets you 6 month free trial, and 50 percent discount after that
I got one week of prime for 1.99 during checkout… Got the same offer last time (2 years ago) for a week during prime day..I took prime for one month each in the past two years
The EBT/MedicAid method works, but for only one user (I.e. no family sharing). There’s also some other limitations, so be sure to read the differences before signing up for this plan.
I got an offer for 1 week Prime Trial for 99 cent during checkout.
