Huntington Launches Business Voice Credit Card – 4% On Categories (Grocery, Gas, Office Supply & More)

Huntington Bank has launched a business Voice credit card. It’s quite similar to their personal Voice card, but much better in most respects. Let’s take a look at the new card.

Card Basics

Our Verdict

Bit annoying that this card doesn’t have a sign up bonus and you have to apply in branch. That being said the flexibility of the 4% categories is great and the categories themselves are actually useful. I can see a lot of people being happy with an extra $28,000 in grocery store spend annually at a high 4% rate. If you can max out that full $28,000 you’re earning an extra $560 compared to a flat 2% card. It’s a shame you can only pick one 4% category. Let me know your thoughts on this new card in the comments below.

Nice card, shame on the in branch requirement.

Just have to make a quick trip to apply in branch.

ugh, none of these places are a “quick trip” from the west coast

It may not be quick, and it may not be just one trip. I went in this morning, and the only one who could approve would be the absent manager. The rest of the crew were clueless.

Too bad its capped. Still looks interesting. Won’t be able to apply until I’m back in Chicago sometime in the next month or two. Hopefully they have another decent biz checking bonus by then!

What is redemption like; 25.00 increments?

Probably. I have the personal card and it’s 2,500 points for $25 minimum.

Really wish it had a sign up bonus – I would jump all over this, but I’m still intrigued. I can get 4% or better on a lot of my categories, but having the flexibility to pick categories is nice. Some of these you could plan ahead for and delay a large purchase into the next quarter.

Does Discount and Warehouse mean Walmart, Target, Costco, BJ’s, and Sam’s?

The $7000 limit is what makes this interesting. Other than that, the Vantage West Visa is better: 5% on the category of your choice, more choices but only a $1500 quarterly limit.

The $7k limit is interesting. I could imagine it could cover travel pretty well for a lot of people. If that’s the case, combined with the Uber card you’ve got a fee free card that erodes a lot of the CSR’s potential.

So, is Walmart included under the “discount and warehouse” category if you don’t have a local one that is categorized as grocery?

I have their personal checking and Voice card, but no longer live in an eligible state. As a business owner I wonder if I would be able to open this card…

With smaller banks I’m always interested how hard is it to get approved. My experience from Alliant, FNBO, Elements is that they’re hard no on people with lots of inquiries/accounts.

Is this the first Huntington business card ever? If so I guess we won’t know until later whether or not it reports as new account on TU/EX/EQ.

Do we know in general if Huntington has shut people down for MSing with their credit card?

No branches in eastern PA for anybody wondering.
I think a good question might be how picky they are for opening business credit cards.

Finally a Mastercard option for utility (think Plastiq). Hope it works.

Will card show on credit report?

Here’s what I know….
Card has been in the works since at least 2015.
Huntington offered me their personal voice card last year as a Pre-Approved pop up when I attempted to sign up for a checking account online.
They pulled Equifax in Ohio.
I’ve only used the card for the 3x category at drugstores (which was just taken away). I’ve never actually put any spend on the card that wasn’t MS ($2k per quarter).
I’m going to go into my branch tomorrow to see if I’m pre-approved (hold a business checking acct) and will report back.

Hard credit pull? Count against 5/24?
