Our Verdict

Not the best selection of hotels, looks like mostly ones that have recently increased in price. That being said 25% back is still a huge discount so definitely worth looking to see if you can make any of these properties work for upcoming trips. Should also be stackable with the Chase Hyatt 10% back deal.

These aren’t for me, but not some big names there. You guys are pretty critical. I’m curious what everybody thinks would be the best selection?

For starters Cancun this time of year is very inexpensive. I am guessing prices on some of those places are very low and using points is a poor value. I also think some of the points and cash deals have very high resort fees which you still have to pay (pretty sure that Costa Rica is in this category).

Doesn’t have to be the ‘best’ selection, but there are 850+ hyatt type hotels worldwide according to the first google link I found, so 14 out of that would mean this promo is at 1.6% of the footprint. It’d have to be at least 10x that for me to not bring up the lack of the selection.

no folks, you’re not missing something. “not the best selection” = just 14 hotels for award bookings and just 8 hotels for points+cash

Might be stackable with the 10% through 9/2 with the Hyatt CC
