Hyatt Introduces ‘Work From Hyatt’ Program

Hyatt has introduced a new program called ‘Work From Hyatt‘ offering discounted long term stays (7 nights+) when using the promo code ‘WFHYAT. Bookings must be made by December 31, 2020 for stays until March 31, 2021 for domestic properties and for international destinations bookings must be made by December 8 for travel through December 22, 2020. Currently 25 properties are participating in the program.

These bookings include things such as:

  • Standard guestroom or suite accommodations with the option to upgrade
  • Workspace options that may include a suite living room, a connecting room or a private meeting room
  • Daily food and beverage credit
  • Complimentary or discounted laundry services
  • Complimentary self or valet parking
  • Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi internet access
  • Housekeeping services that reflect guest preferences on frequency and time of day
  • Waived resort fees
  • Standard World of Hyatt in-hotel benefits including earning points and having nights count toward elite-tier status.
  • Ability to use World of Hyatt points to redeem for a Work from Hyatt package.

I’m surprised more hotel chains are not offering packages like this and other staycation type deals. How useful this Hyatt offering is will depend on pricing, Hyatt states it starts from $139 per night so at minimum you’re looking at $973.

Not sure if this can compete with WeWork/Airbnb types as a hybrid model, but it seems like a good idea for Hyatt.

The fact that they’re still charging resort fees otherwise, is not a very good reminder. Paying $139/night when all their rooms are empty is kind of a strange proposition; aren’t the prices already lower for some of the non-participating hotels, without a requirement of a week-long stay?

It is supposedly available on points, maybe you have to call in? I don’t see points availability for this rate on app. If the points cost is the same, would be a good deal.

MGM did Viva Las Office: https://milestomemories.com/viva-las-office/
The resort fee killed the deal.

would be a deal if it is available on points too

When I tested the promocode in a few properties, got this: “The special offer or rate you have requested is unavailable during the dates of your stay or is not offered at this property.”
The regular rate in one was $128/night (lower than the promo). Rates were generally low everywhere, so this promo is mostly useless.

what extras? the F&B credit? Is that significant? I already get free parking thru another promo that can be used with or without points so I’m not seeing a lot of value from the “extras”?

F&B, and also waived resort fee. Take a look at the property and see if you still get a better deal with the regular rate when you consider the resort fee.

The other thing that seems interesting is the “workspace”, it is yet to be seen what that means. But if you are really working from there, it could be a nice perk.

This is intriguing. There are 4 properties in FL so Im considering a multi property stay. Looks like points are valid with promo. Wonder if its possible to use a suite upgrade cert on top of their base rooms with included suite upgrade.

If I remember correctly, Hyatt still has that “premium” internet fee. I believe it was 1.5mbps free, if you wanted anything faster you had to pay extra.

I don’t think they have this anymore.

There’s no such thing as “1.5Mbps free”.

A few years ago, when Netflix has already been rather popular, I’ve discovered that a brand new Hyatt Place I’ve been staying at only had 1.5Mbps internet, through a T1 line, for the whole building, with like 5 floors and 300 rooms. Needless to say, the internet was unusable, even for simple non-video things.

That was when I discovered that they don’t have any sort of guarantees for what the “high-speed internet” means. Entirely specific to each individual property.

Flipped through a few scenarios and the prices were either comparable or higher than a normal Member rate. The food and bev credit is ok, but getting 1-2 (for Globalists) meals a day at the hotel for a minimum of a week could get old fast. The rest of the amenities are normally available but just not advertised.

Appreciate that they’re trying new things but unless you can expense it or you’ve got excess wealth and are bored of being trapped at home, it doesn’t make a lot of sense at first glance. Most of the properties I saw were $1800+ a week.

Interestingly, as a comparison with my rent, I checked Hilton here in downtown Seattle: the whole month of September (30 nights) would cost around $3200 which is not far off from rent here for a 1-2bdr apartment. You also get 10-15% back as points. Weird times.

Found a Homewood Suite in Orlando @51/night for long stays. Works out to ~1730/30 nights. With the double pts n nights promo, could get about 30% back with Diamond, more if you have an Aspire or other travel card
