In my experience it’s rare for hotels to open on time, but it’s good to see Hyatt doing something to address the limited footprint they have when compared to other chains.

“A hotel within the Joie de Vivre brand, located in Oceanside, Calif., 161 guestrooms, Q4 2020”.

I’ve been watching the constructions progress of this hotel. There has been lots of delay…once this hotel is complete, it’s going to ruin the pool view on the top floor of the Marriott in Oceanside. Our favorite hotel by Legoland.

Was curious about this as my mom might need to overnight here, but it looks like Hyatt’s own website isn’t taking reservations for before Dec 1, 2019, I’d say they’re thinking the same thing!

When are they going to incorporate SLH in America for World of Hyatt redemptions?

Hyatt House and Hyatt Place for SEA? Two hotels open at the same time. What is the difference between those two brands?

One’s supposedly more of an extended stay type property, but as far as my inexperienced eye could tell, there’s some level of overlap

House have kitchenettes and are longer stay oriented. Place has a couch/desk living/workspace but are basically a solid budget hotel.

Not all House rooms have kitchenettes though. The 1K and 2Q at the Hyatt House Chelsea NYC do not have kitchenettes, but do have a microwave, minifridge, and desk. They do also have suites and other rooms such that do have kitchenettes (dish washer, cooktop), laundry, etc.

The Hyatt Place Seattle room I stayed at did have a “living area” with couch/sofabed/workspace and desk as well.

That’s why I said there’s some overlap.

Hyatt Place and Hyatt House sometimes even share the same building (Downtown Charleston, SC is one), just different wings for the different room types.

Honestly need a Hyatt Place or Hyatt House in San Francisco (not just Bay Area)

Thanks for the link. Can’t find any award availability! Also, it’s 20,000 points and cash rates seems to be more expensive than the Hyatt Centric, which costs 15,000 points. I understand it’s San Francisco, but wow! That’s the most points-expensive Hyatt Place I think.

Love Hyatt. I transfer all my UR to Hyatt.
(Went recently 3 nights to The Hyatt Confidante Miami beach resort for 30K + 1 free CC night. The cash price was $1,579 total for the 3 nights).

The Koreatown hotel is major. No chain hotels in that area and it’s imo one of the best spots to be based in LA.

The Radisson became the Line which is high end enough, although not part of the majors. There is a Holiday Inn Express in the area and a Kimpton to the west but I agree this is a gap in the market.

I’m obviously excited for more options, but I hope that Hyatt keeps their simple and streamlined brands. I think Marriott and Hilton have an obnoxious number, I like how I know what Hyatt is going for with each of them. I hope the new ones like Thompson Hollywood will just fall into the Unbound Collection.
