Wait a second, Hyatt partners with American Airlines (https://www.doctorofcredit.com/american-airlines-hyatt-announce-new-partnership/), not Southwest or United, but they’re buying a company which partners with Southwest and United but not American?

For anyone wondering, AMResorts owns Secrets, Dreams, etc, higher end all-inclusives. If they fold into the Hyatt portfolio I’d expect Miraval level pricing, if not higher.

I disagree with Miraval level pricing for awards (I’m assuming that’s what you’re talking about as cash pricing is readily searchable today). Zilara and Ziva are currently 20-25k/night, and the Hyatt Ziva Cancun is better than pretty much any Dreams/Now property.

I would expect Secrets to go for 25-30k for most of their properties (maybe even as low as 20k for Cozumel), Dreams/Now 20-25k, Zoetry 30-40k, and Sunscape could even see a couple properties at 15k, if they end up putting them into Hyatt as-is (I personally would expect them to either be spun off or renovated into a Dreams/Now level property before they are available on WoH).

Looking forward to a bunch of new all-inclusives to spend my points on.

Yeah I hear you. The only problem I see is the inevitable point devaluation that will follow shortly thereafter.

If anything, I’d expect the opposite – right now there are a ton of people wanting to spend points at Ziva/Zilara. Playa had a preso a couple weeks ago that mentioned Ziva/Zilara have the highest share of redemption room nights of all the Hyatt brands (I think redemptions as a percentage of rooms available in each brand), and there are about 10 hotels total across both. Now it is something like 80 with a similar pool of members trying to book them. Hyatt members looking to book an all-inclusive in the Cancun/Riviera Maya went from having 2 options to more than 20. I can’t imagine this will cause 10x the number of people to book these resorts on points.

True, but also many more people will become hyatt loyalists as a result, which will increase the 1in10 ratio to somethign much higher
