The Offer
- IHG is has launched a new promotion called double plus more. This is for stays between 16 September and 31 December. Everybody receives double points (up to 15,000 points) and then people have targeted offers on top of that. Here are some of the ‘plus more’ offers I have seen:
- Book two stays with the app and get 2,000-8,000 points
- Stay four nights or more (in one stay) and get 2,000-8,000 points

- Valid on stays from September 16th until December 31st
Our Verdict
This runs through the end of Q3 and most of Q4, I did say we would see an accelerate offer but I thought it would come in early August not September. This isn’t as good as an accelerate offer in my opinion, usually those are enough to get me to at least consider booking IHG but this is more or less junk for me (mine required buying points). Let me know what offers you received in the comments below.
a decade+ ago, when we first got into this miles & points travel hobby, IHG was our first cc…. our go-to brand. Now, IHG has become a sad afterthought… and yes, our offers too were “total junk.” (and insultingly so)
Considering a pair of His/hers card more for non-domestic with annual free night, is it lack a reward availability, devalued earning points or rewards?
Checking Hotels in Mediterranean and S.A. seem to have decent free night hotels.

Can anyone help me with this question. I have regular price stay for one night in a Sydney hotel. This is followed by 3 reward nights in the same hotel. Would this stay be considered qualifying stay? Or should i move to another hotel for the first night? Thank you
I have a question… Does going through a portal (like TopCashBack.com for 8% cash back) negate these deals (or get negated)? I’m planning to do this.
My offer is pretty good for my situation:
double points and
16000 for staying at 2 brands
So I’ll do one night at 2 different brands. That should be what, 18k points? Kind of like staying 2 nights and getting a third (inexpensive hotel) free.
Another question… If I book a friend’s hotel room and pay for it (same night), do I get the points? Thanks,

junk indeed. Might be better to call this IHG’s further turn into the darkness, the deceleration into near irrelevance…. In our family, the offers are paltry, at best stay two branks, get a measly 11k. (Meanwhile the devaluation of the points of late has been accelerating….)
I have a few offers but when I click them in the app it loads an IHG web page that basically says it’s not found…
My offer:

I got a crap offer with barely any earning potential. I had a nice offer over the summer, would’ve been easy, but the wife insisted on staying at a different hotel for something and shot the whole thing down.

Not bad. Haven’t booked a cash night in almost a year, so might just do two quick mattress runs.
Quick question: Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express are considered two separate brands, right? That’s how it was listed in the terms, but just wanted to double check I’m not missing something.
