[Expired] Increased Citi Expedia Credit Card Offers (Up To 70,000 Points) – Last Day

Bonus back to 50k pts

Update 11/27/19: There is now a public link that will work, you’ll still need to log into your account before applying.

Update 11/25/19: Some people are actually able to apply now. Make sure you’re logged into your account, click ‘Expedia Rewards Credit Cards’ at the bottom of the page and the option to apply now should show up. Offer shows as being good until December 2nd, 2019. Hat tip to Wayne H. Can also use this link to search for VIP access hotels.

Update 11/25/19: Extreme Hotel Deals (awesome site) points out that the Expedia+ Voyager card will be offering a 70,000 point bonus on Black Friday.

Keep in mind Citi will usually match a higher bonus if it’s within 90 days of sign up.

Update 11/22/19: Old links stopped working, I’ve updated it with some new links.

The Offers

Direct link to offers: Voyager | No annual fee card

Expedia+ Voyager:

  • $95 annual fee
  • 50,000 Expedia+ points after $2,000 in purchases within 3 months
  • $100 annual statement credit can be used  airline incidentals on qualified airlines, Wi-Fi carriers, or for the Global Entry application fee (calendar year)

Expedia+

  • No annual fee
  • 20,000 Expedia+ points after $1,000 in purchases within 3 months

Our Verdict

Standard offer on the Voyager card is 25,000 points, but we’ve also seen 20,000 points + $100. Looks like points are worth a maximum of 0.7¢ towards hotels/flights (up to 1.4¢ for ‘VIP Hotels’). Keep in mind the 24 month language on these offers. This still works out to be about $350 in Expedia credit and most people should be eligible due to never having one of these cards before. I’ll be adding the Voyager offer to our list of the best credit card bonuses.

Sorry, false alarm. 2 DPs:
1) Delta eGC $100 works for travel credit
2) Travel credit is not credited immediately but only at the statement closing

Despite 3 documented calls to customer service telling me otherwise, the year of your 100 dollar credit is not based on the date of your charge but the statement date that the charge hits so today is likely not the last day for many. I got 100 credit in January 2021 for late December 2020 charge but my credit for a southwest purchase in late November or early December 2021 didn’t come through on my next statement as I was told I already used up my 2021 credit. Their customer service is useless. I feel like they owe me a hundred dollars.

Any DPs on what’s triggering the statement credit these days? Delta GC didn’t work for me in 11/2020. SW GC did in 2/2021. Both were 2×$50. Trying to use up my 2022 credit and PC before AF hits.

Can I buy a 50 SW gift card this month just to test if I’m due another $100 for 2021 ( I had bought $100 AA GC in late December) and if it works buy another $50 GC in April? In other words, do I have to spend the $100 or more at once?
Thanks

Yes, you can. I received $100 in credit for two separate $50 SW gift card purchases.

I was able to extract much more value out of this 70k bonus than I originally expected. With the 2X VIP redemptions and free upgrades this 70k SUB provided +$1,000 in value. Thanks DOC!

I finally got the credit in January for my December gift card purchase. Despite what they said I’m Leary that I still have a credit to use for 2021. How do I test this without breaking the bank? Should I buy a 50 dollar southwest gift card and if I get the credit the following month then buy another 50 dollar gift card? Would that work or do I have to spend the 100 dollars at once? Thanks

Triple dip and successful downgrade to the no-fee Expedia card via chat. Had been 32 days since the annual fee posted. The full $95 will be refunded 51 days from now, according to the rep.

Not pleased about the massive VIP devaluation, but I only have minor regrets about using a 5/24 slot for this. $225 cash for the three travel credits + 2 nights at a very nice hotel this fall (fingers crossed) for a $95 annual fee + $66 hotel resort fees.

Spent close to an hour on the phone with Citi today. I only used $80 of my travel credit in 2020. Earlier this month, I bought a $100 Delta gift card, but was only reimbursed $20. I spent a good hour on the phone with Citi today to get this figured out and 3 people gave me different answers before a supervisor happily (and very nicely) said they would manually credit me the full $100. One of the representatives said because it was a gift card, they couldn’t me for the full amount so could only reimburse me for a portion (which is ridiculous, because they’re system clearly forgot to reset my benefit). Anyway, just posting this in case others have the same problem!

I got billed the AF in December. I did not get a retention offer when I called a couple of weeks ago, so I waited for my statement to close to get the $100 back for my December gift card purchase, I just called to downgrade my card. The rep said that there was no option to do that and still no retention offer either, so I cancelled the card. Surprising, since I’m sure that others here were able to downgrade it.

Rep did not know that one can downgrade to the no annual fee Expedia CC.

Claimed that her computer was not showing any conversion options. Didn’t care enough to hang up and try again.
