IRS Website Finally Allows You To Add Bank Information For $1,200 Stimulus Direct Deposit

Over a week ago, the IRS rolled out a website where – ostensibly – you can check when you are getting your stimulus payment and add your bank information. The problem was it didn’t seem to be working for a lot of people, especially the part about adding your bank info.

Just today, multiple readers are reporting that the IRS apparently ran an update on the website and it’s now working for people to add their direct deposit info.

Add your bank info here | Main IRS landing page

The main people who were affected are those who filed their 2018 tax without their bank info, and have yet to file their 2019 taxes. Hopefully it’s working for everyone now.

Tip: Enter your address in all caps if you are having trouble with the IRS site.

So my payment showed up today as the website said it would. But I noticed that my entire social security number is included in the transaction detail. I’m surprised that there hasn’t been uproar about this. Granted that people are not going to be able to see my transactions but this potentially means that my bank statement for the month will have the social security number! Or does the IRS routinely do this for tax refunds?

Entered bank info on Apr 25 and just checked it again first time on May 4, 10 days later.

Primary SSN JT Return got an error message of Info Not Matched. Re-entered info and still got the same error.

Secondary SSN JT Return got the DD will be on May 6 message. This SSN did not enter DD info because after the DD info of the Primary SSN was submitted successfully on Apr 25, the Secondary SSN automatically had the same DD info listed when checked.

Went back to check the Primary SSN one more time. 1st try got the same Info Not Matched error again.

Resubmitted it one more time, this time it brought up the same scheduled DD info…

The FAQ did mention the Info Not Matched error could also be caused when the payment is in process. Hopefully that is why the Primary SSN is getting confusing / conflicting status.

I input my bank info 2 weeks ago. I kept checking website every day for an update after that. One day, it showed I would be getting a physical check on May 1 (last Friday), even tho I input bank Info (wtf?). Received the physical check today (Monday) and immediately deposited via mobile. Funds will be available tomorrow. I still wanted that DD to hit a bank bonus but I can’t complain.

Added our direct deposit info when this article was posted and both my husband’s and I’s are pending for May 6. My mother, who does not file taxes and receives SS (as well as Veteran Benefits) direct deposit is getting a check that was mailed on May 1.

I entered my DD info when they fixed the website on 4/24 (I had not filed 2019 yet and paid by credit card in 2018). I just checked and it now says I will be receiving my payment this Wednesday (5/6).

You don’t have permission to access “http://sa.www4.irs.gov/irfof-wmsp/login” on this server.

Reference blahblah blah

Odd. I updated my bank payment information last week, but now it says they will mail me a check within the next week. I wanted the DD so I can hit a bank bonus, not a physical check lol. Beggars can’t be choosers.

Didn’t work for me Saturday, but Monday (4/27) I was able to input my DD info and it said I’d be getting a direct deposit. I opted to apply my 2018 refund to my 2019 return, and I haven’t yet done 2019’s taxes.

FYI if you live on an Avenue, you have to put a “.“ after the “Ave”….some developer royally messed that up.
