Our Verdict
This isn’t a new promotion, Marriott almost always offers this promotion. Good deal if you’re not already a Marriott member and have stays planned coming up, otherwise it’s useless.
could you just do two separate one night stays to qualify? Or does your stay have to be at least two nights?
My wife opened an account a long time ago and never used it. Im kind of thinking of just making her a new one since her name is different it shouldn’t be counted as a duplicate….. right?
I read somewhere before that making a duplicate account for the same person intentionally may result in both your accounts being closed. Would like to hear an opinion on this from more knowledgeable members. But there should be nothing wrong in opening an account for a family member. If a reservation is made under family member account you can always add your name to the reservation, and check in without any issues.
Just make a new account?
OK, So it appears very likely that if Bonvoy were ever to repeat it’s make 2 separate stays get a free night promotion for regular members, that the free night earned will be worth 25,000 points = a free night at a Category 4 hotel during standard award redemption time, and not a Category 5 Cert worth 35,000 points.
FYI – You can also make a new account under a different email address to take advantage of the offer!
