while the digital coupon stated limit 1 per customer / household, the system does give 4x pts for multiple VGCs in 1 transction? like if buying 4 of $100 will get 2k pts, right? Thx

This morning I bought 2 $100 Visa fixed value cards and the fuel points are not showing in my account anyone have any idea as to why?

This has been fixed. Seems there was a glitch in their system that didn’t even register me the basic 2x fuel points either. They credited my account with 800 points

Does a shell gc count as a 3rd party? I commute quite a bit and would be more interested in but gas gc at 4x fuel points.

Note that some Kroger affiliates do not seem to require a digital coupon for this (eg Marianos). It works automatically.

No. No fuel points on Visa/MC variable load unfortunately.

Every time this deal comes up, y’all always say “all” when it’s NOT all (since it doesn’t include variables).

I know there’s no intent to bait-and-switch, but some of us who do VGCs only shouldn’t be given wrong info in the headline. And yes, we know there is never an intent to allow VGCs to receive Fuel Rewards, but in reality they occasionally have something “slip” through, so there could be a case where an “all” deal actually exists.

I love this site, but in the future can you simply use the accurate word “fixed” or “most” or don’t use a term at all– just don’t use “all” please

“Usually, every 1000 fuel points will get you a discount of $1 per gallon with a 35-gallon limit, a max value of $35 per 1000-points, though these details do vary by store and region”. Do some places allow a bigger discount?

Don’t think any Kroger offers more than $1/1000 pts, but I think in some areas you’re limited to redeeming 1000 points whereas in other areas you can redeem as many points as you want up to the actual cost of the gas per gallon (e.g. redeem 2500 points to save $2.50 per gallon).

It may not be the usual $1 limit, yet many of us have regularly reported local Krogers where there are no limits…. (I’m getting worried I might kill the golden goose if I keep repeating the name of the cities/regions with no limits…. and I now see the wisdom in DoC not listing them either…) Another hint, if you’re in an area where Kroger (currently or in the past) competes with places like Martin’s, (or Giant or Stop n Shop), where they too don’t put limits on the max discount, then good chance the local Krogers will not either….

I’m not from an area with a Kroger. Can I purchase the gift cards online?

As far as I know, yes, you can. But I am not sure about the category bonus

I do this about once a month — and no, grocery category bonus does not apply. Yet 4x fuel points does apply. However, if you don’t have a Kroger fuel center in your area (or one of their affiliate market networks), not sure what the benefit would be? Last I checked, there are severe limits on the cash discounts at Shell.

What is the limits with shell? It doesn’t work the same way?

partner fuel program, i.e., shell and bp, where one may
also fill up to 35 gallons.

Here is how you maximize this:

Buy $100 gift card – comes to $105.95

Split the transaction – use the Cash App for $75, which will instantly rebate $7.50 thus wiping out the fee.

The rest of transaction use the card of your choice, Chase Freedom has 5% at groceries so that would earn another $1.55 on the remaining 30.95

I’m someone who hauls gas cans, so I get 30-35 gallons consistently, so the 400 fuel points nets around $12-14.

This is the first I’ve seen about the Cash app like this. Can you please elaborate?

https://www.doctorofcredit.com/square-cash-debit-card-cash-boost-get-cash-back-on-categories-specific-merchants/

The cash App has a debit card which has different ‘boosts.’ One right now is 10% off at Kroger up to 7.50 per transaction. It works for credit and debit transactions (but DO NOT GET CASH BACK or the boost won’t work.)

I use it mostly to buy $75 money orders, which cost $68.34 and put the money back into my account. So far, according to the app, I’ve ‘saved’ $407 (in less than a month) Commuting to work I pass two Krogers, so I stop at each on the way home to get a money order.

Each boost can only be done once every thirty minutes.

I also use this to buy VGC, splitting the transaction and it negates the fee.

Can you please share any other ways to do a moneymaker or churn at Kroger or any credit cards? I’m currently out of work and need to take advantage of these deals to feed my kids. Thank you!
