Kroger: $5 off Groceries with $50 Visa/Mastercard Gift Card + 4x Fuel Points

The Offer

Direct Link  (sort by ‘General’)

  • Load the digital coupon to get $5 off your groceries with the purchase of a $50 Visa or Mastercard gift card

There’s also currently a digital coupon valid until June 6 which offers 4x fuel points on fixed-value Visa/Mastercard gift cards.

The Fine Print

  • Valid through June 18, 2017
  • Be sure to load the coupon to your account and use your card
  • Limit one coupon per household; limit one coupon per transaction per day
  • Offer excluded $25, $50, and variable-load cards (I assume it’s a typo and should say “$25, $100, and variable-load cards”)

Our Verdict

Putting the two deals together, you’ll end up getting a $50 Visa/MC gift card for $49.95 (after all fees and discounts) + you’ll get 4x fuel points, assuming you have $5 of groceries to purchase. Use Chase Freedom for 5x until the end of June.

The $5-off deal might be limited to just one use, though the 4x offer is unlimited.

After using the digital coupon yesterday, it is now gone from my coupon list?

Wasn’t it supposed to be useable once per day?

Same problem here… used yesterday, hasn’t reappeared since 🙁

Are you able to buy just a $50 VGC and get $5 off? It didn’t work for me and the cashier said the $5 off was only against groceries.

For me it was $5 instant off on $50 VGC and x4 fuel points for both of my accounts.

Gift Cards are issued by U.S. Bank National Association. Time to get out the Freedom if you have some spending left. I will have to settle for either 2X MLB Cash Rewards or get a 3X sock drawer card out.

Does it only work on $50 or $100 too? T&C state not good on $25 or VGC

missed it at first on our family accounts. Sooo many offers & coupons these days on the kroger digital screens — easy for the eyes to glaze over.

tip: Try the screen, “general,” (rather than “gift cards.”) When did that, then reduced the clutter to just 11 options — and there it was across all our accounts. (the $50 gc deal)

I’ve used it twice today and it’s still in my account. I actually used a $100 Visa gift card to buy the $50 Visa gift card. Might go back for more.

Yeah, you are right. The coupon appears in my account again later this afternoon. Weird. So you mean the limit of “one per transaction per day” is actually not there and we can use it as often as we like? 🙂

It appears that Kroger was updating their software. It disappeared after my 2nd use but I got fuel points for 2 $50 visa purchases at 4x each.

The $5 off coupon is one-time use only. After buying one $50 Visa card in store this morning, that coupon disappeared from my account.
