In order to buy GC’s with these you need to swipe at the register at bed bath beyond, Panera , etc.

The problem with this offer is it’s for EGC. How are you going to quick swipe one of those when checking out with the cashier?

I think Happy Student is the next best after Happy Guy if you are really looking for discounted gift cards.

I logged in to my Kroger.com account and I’m not seeing the discount coupon to apply like we normally do for a store purchanse. So I also went to the gift cards page and put 3x $50 Happy Gift Guy cards in my cart, but still no discount shown. How is this offer working?

Happy guy is not part of the deal even though it is on the web site linked in this post. Try one of the cards specifically mentioned in this post.

Why?

Because I posted about the same offer at Safeway, then remembered that Shaw’s is part of Albertsons/Safeway.

YMMV on cashier.

It will work if they cooperate, but some cashiers/managers will refuse to do it. I wouldn’t count on cooperation myself.

Don’t show the cashier how you’re paying. Just quickly swipe the Happy card and get it out of sight.

This is a YMMV. I tried this and their system was coded to reject gift cards. Same thing happened at a Lowe’s cash register.

I purchased on Sunday 12/22 at multiple BBB’s and had no problem at any of them. The system is NOT coded to reject happy gift cards buying gift cards, however individual cashiers or managers can reject them. You swipe the card (no chip) and when the screen option comes up hit credit (not debit).

These cards are run as credit when using at Lowes, it will ask for last 4 after swipe.

Ymmw if cashier will allow you to use when purchasing vgcs.

Wayne Can you clarify whether the card you were using was old or new series? The new series cards have a protective sticker and a specific statement on the back that they cannot be used to purchase GCs. I suspect some POS systems are now hard coded to reject GC purchases with new series cards. I used an old series Happy card on 12/26 to buy GCs and had no issues.

@RM The cards were new. That would explain everything. Thanks.

Does anyone know if they have Home Depot cards at BBB?

Rob BBB’s selection varies greatly by market. I have not seen HD in my area, but that does not mean it is not available in yours.
