Las Vegas American Express Centurion Lounge Has Closed Again

Update 3/10/19: This lounge has been closed again due to maintenance issues. It’s not clear when it will reopen or why it has had to close it’s doors so soon after the recent renovations. Hat tip to PMM

Update 1/23/19: The Las Vegas Centurion lounge has reopened. This has been confirmed by reader Christian B and also by the fact the closure message no longer shows up on the official page. According to Christian it looks like they have just renovated the reception area.

We already knew that the Miami American Express Centurion lounge will be closing for a brief ~two week period on January 14th, 2019 to help upgrade and expand the space. It turns out that the Las Vegas Centurion lounge will also close on January 14th, 2019. The official statement regarding this reads:

Beginning January 14th, 2019, The Las Vegas Centurion Lounge will be temporarily closed for a short period as we renovate and improve the space.

We haven’t been told about any renovation or upgrade for this space, so I’m curious to know what will actually be changing and how long the lounge will be inaccessible for. American Express Platinum cardholders will have access to The Club in terminal 1 and terminal 3 via Priority Pass as normal during this period.

The lounge was open this afternoon and fwiw the manager said they’re pretty sure the maintenance issue has been resolved for good.

I dread the crowd that will be there tomorrow as all of us leave Vegas with CES over.

Commenter on Flyertalk asked them and they responded 14th to the 20th apparently.

That’s all the comment says and that he asked the front desk agent. Original wording on the website said it would be closed “for a short period in January” implying it would be closed and opened back up all in January. Renovate and improve does sound more simple than Miami’s upgrade and expand.

At least they seem to be maintaining them more often then any of the airlines do their own. They are probably also doing what they can to increase seating and maximize the layout given the overwhelming popularity.
