[Expired] Lime Scooters: 8 Free Rides For Existing Users With Promo Code ‘LIME3RESPECT’ & ‘LIME5RESPECT’

The Offers

  • Lime Scooters users can get three free rides by entering promo code LIME3RESPECT. Get another 5 by adding ‘LIME5RESPECT’

The Fine Print

  • Valid until December 31st, 2018

Our Verdict

Code was issued as an apology for running out of helmets (I assume in reference to this promotion). Keep in mind the rides aren’t technically free, they cover the activation cost ($1) only and then you pay an additional amount per minute of use depending on where you’re located.

It says that the promo has expired even though it says it’s valid until Dec 31st

I was able to get both promos to work. Also, it lists as $1 off, same as when you get a referral bonus.

I’m pretty sure you can use multiple credits for the same ride, so I expect you can get a few free rides out of this.

wait a second, there’s a way to exploit this to make money

1. Bring the scooter to your house

2. Sign up for ride using the offer code and run the battery to zero

3. charge back up the scooter (lime will pay you for this).

4. Repeat step one until all codes are used.

5. Profit?

If that’s a joke, hilarious.

If you’re serious, keep smoking.

Are you going to assume everyone is lying and do a proof test on every post?

Nope. $3 in credits. Was a previous rider with Lime Bike, too, but I dont live in an area where they are so I can understand why they “ran out” before they got to me.

Yeah I registered almost as soon as they sent the email (rode a lime the week before the promo) and they still “ran out”

Not sure if it’s free rides. Showing as 8 $1 credits on my account. Hope we can at least use multiple credits on each ride.

probably not entirely free. $1 per activation +5c per minute in my region. So 10 minute=$0.5.

Wow, it’s $1+15c per minute in Columbus, triple the cost of wherever you’re at.

We’re likely talking about two different products here.

LimeBike has regular bikes and electric scooters (and electric bikes, too). Regular bikes used to be $1 to unlock and up to 30 minutes free. They recently changed that to be $1 to unlock and 5 cents a minute. The scooters are $1 to unlock and 15 cents a minute. It’s possible the rates differ within the US, but I imagine Jason Huang is talking about the regular bikes and John is talking about scooters.

I was just in Mexico City this past weekend and used a scooter there, and it was around $0.50 to unlock and $0.15/minute, just to compare.
