Hat tip to GC Galore
Did a purchase of a $200 airbnb gc at a lowes store this afternoon. The website says my gc is not valid for the offer 🙁
any dice today? Per the terms of the promotion, I have a feeling it may work different for you today?
Same. Tried several days in a row now. Emailed through their page and it says someone will response in “a couple of days”
Can I just buy the Airbnb gc on Amazon and use the number to redeem the Lowe’s code? Anyone has tried this?
will buying air bnb gcs trigger c1 venturex credit?
The merchant on record will be Lowes.. sooooo no.
Airbnb sucks.
The linked page doesn’t provide much information and has a form for entering your AirBNB gift card number. Today is the last day of the offer it says. I’m trying to understand what you have to do for this – do you have to buy an Airbnb GC in-store at Lowe’s, or anywhere, or what?
It doesn’t look like you have to even upload a Lowe’s receipt – just enter your GC number.
A little confused by the process… Thinking we need to go in-store to buy the Airbnb cards then go to the linked site Doc linked in the description above to get the Lowe’s GC?
The credit card statement won’t show as home improvements, right?
Haven’t used Airbnb in a couple years, and now when I check it seems the service/cleaning fees have gone way up. There’s no economic benefit to a 1-2 night stay anymore, compared to a hotel.
Yeah 1-2 night stays are probably cheaper in a hotel. We book AirBnbs purely for extended stays.
That used to be known as VRBO. The two are virtually indistinguishable now
It depends on the trips for the most part but yeah the cleaning fee’s are becoming very high. Hotels are getting very close to value but some Airbnb locations might be worth it pay a premium to go to.
I personally have a soft spot for hotels because I always get free breakfast which I find priceless on vacation. The last thing I want to do in the morning is get ready and find a breakfast spot that costs me an arm and a leg. Getting to go to the gym and grab a coffee and quick food to start the day on vacation has always been great. Even if it’s just a continental breakfast.
For Airbnb, the value benefits are the entire homes and fitting a bunch of people in them. Going to Florida with my family for a wedding, 8 people needing 5 different rooms. Airbnb blows it out of the park with a house for 300 a night.
Yes, in the US prices are abysmal from what I’ve seen. It used to be that a $30-40 room for a night wasn’t difficult to find (after taxes and fees), now there’s nothing under $100+. In other countries though, prices are still very reasonable and often lower than hotels.
