  • Market Basket is waiving the purchase fees on Visa, Mastercard & American Express for December 20th only

The Fine Print

  • December 20th, 2017 only
  • In store only

Our Verdict

Market Basket operates in the New England area and I’m told that they accept credit cards for these purchases. I assume they also code as a grocery store, so great for those with a card that earns a category bonus on those purchases.

Bought 6 x $200 with OBC at Customer Service. They filled out the special form with my name, address, DL. Told me they needed to fill out the form with any amount of GCs – for internal use. They do not know the limit.

I have a Amex Biz Gold Rewards and need spend 10K on it. I do have MB near home. I just wonder if I risk getting hit by recent shut down. Anyone know if the shut down expand to Biz charge card?

Thanks,

They have signs in our local stores that VISA/MC/AMEX cards can only be purchased in cash at the customer service desk. Maybe it varies by location?

Can confirm Market Basket codes as grocery for AMEX, MC/Visa & Discover. Don’t know if they accept CC for these cards, though.

MB accepts CC for these cards. But Visa, MC and Amex should be bought at Customer Service, not at registers.
