A little over a year ago Marriott introduced a new way to earn and redeem points called ‘Marriott Rewards MORE‘. Basically it was similar to a regular shopping portal but required a mobile app or browser download. When it first launched it was somewhat useful as it included Amazon, but that was quickly removed. Redeeming points wasn’t that interesting as you redeemed points for 0.37¢ per point.
Marriott has now announced that Rewards MORE will be shut down on November 15th, 2018. It isn’t clear at this stage if it will be replaced by another shopping portal/redemption option or not. If it was my guess is that it would be managed by Cartera/Ebates since they seem to own all the other loyalty shopping portals.
