Update 12/19/22: The media team reached out with the following update: This offer is only applicable to those Marriott Bonvoy members who download the Uber app for the first time and link to Marriott Bonvoy during this time frame. Only Marriott Bonvoy members who don’t currently have the Uber app qualify to earn the bonus points. Members who haven’t linked their accounts but already have the Uber app don’t qualify to earn this bonus.
Update 12/16/22: Bonus for linking increased to 3,000 (up from 1,000). Per OMMAT: This is open to all Marriott Bonvoy members, per the terms & conditions of the offer, though there’s no mention of it on the page where you link accounts. Some people are getting an email about this offer, and an official Marriott representative posted about this offer in a Marriott Facebook group. This offer is valid December 16-31, 2022. I was also able to find this stated in the google results:
Update 2/17/22: They are now offering a 1,000 bonus for linking Uber and Marriott and having at least one qualifying transaction by March 20, 2022. (The previous 2,000 points bonus from last year has long expired.)

Marriott has partnered with Uber to offer bonus Marriott Bonvoy points on Uber purchases when you have your Marriott Bonvoy account linked with Uber.

- Uber: Get 3x points per $1 spent on Uber rides with UberXL, Uber Comfort, Uber SUV, and Uber Black.
- No points earned on regular Uber rides.
- UberEats: Get 2x points per $1 spent on UberEats orders of $25+.
- Get 6x points per $1 spent on Uber Eats deliveries of $25+ to any hotel within the Marriott portfolio.
No limit on amount of points you can earn. Spend is calculated after all promotions and discounts are factored in. Points are also not earned on the amount spent on tips, fees, and taxes.

Bonus 2,000 Points
You’ll earn a one-time bonus of 2,000 Marriott Bonvoy points if you link your Uber and Marriott accounts and have at least one qualifying transaction by May 31, 2021.
Minimum spend to earn points for Eats orders was increased to $40, though you do also earn on grocery orders now. There’s an offer for 1K points for first every UberEats grocery order

I completely forgot I linked Marriott and Uber in 2021 and found out I have 17k points just from Uber rides and Uber Eats orders lol
Hmm, seems like I never got the points and it has been 6+ weeks since Feb 19. Never downloaded Uber or used Uber to be honest or linked accounts either before as well.

Finally managed to reconnect my marriott and uber account, after unlinking it earlier.
Also got an email (maybe targetted) for
“Earn 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy® points”,
Sign up for Uber Travel and get 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy® points.
I used a dummy email to give them email access too. Haven’t gotten the points yet so we will see
So, if you’ve opened the uber app before, you won’t even get the 1,000 points like the previous promotion had?
it’s been a nightmare trying to relink accounts afterwards. Marriott still see’s we’re linked on their end but Uber is saying it’s unlinked. I’m going too run a test order this week to see if I still earn Marriott points but I don’t assume I will. Marriott refused to unlink on their end, wish I hadn’t fiddled around with this so quickly.
Did Marriott ever fix this for you? I’ve talked to multiple people at both Marriott and Uber over the past 2 months. Useless
