The Offer
- Open a new First General Credit Union checking account and receive a sign up bonus of $100 when you complete the following requirements:
- Have a monthly direct deposit of at least $500
- Remain open and in good standing for 6 months
- Receive E-Statements
The Fine Print
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
They offer a free checking account with no monthly fees. You need to keep the account open for six months to get the bonus, I’m not sure if there are any other early account termination fees involved or not.
Our Verdict
Little bit annoying you have to open in branch, hard to comment if this is a good deal or not due to the fact we don’t know if it’s hard/soft pull. Upside is there is no monthly fees to worry about. For now we are not adding it to our list of the best bank account bonuses.
