The Fine Print

• Offer valid to persons who meet the membership requirements with no prior checking relationship with spire in last 12 months
• Minimum opening deposit of $100
• Bonus requirements must be completed within 60 days of account opening
• $100 will be deposited to account on account opening, if the bonus requirements are not met than SPIRE reserves the right to reclaim the $100 bonus
• All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Avoiding Fees

The full fee schedule can be found here. As long as you apply for the free checking account you won’t be charged a monthly fee, just remember to keep the account open for a minimum of six months to avoid them clawing the $100 bonus back as an early account termination fee.

Our Verdict

Because this is a hard pull to open, I wouldn’t recommend anybody to sign up for this offer. You’d be much better off signing up for a credit card with a cash sign up bonus instead.
