According to Flyertalk user runningformqm most Delta Sky Clubs are no longer requiring American Express Platinum cardholders to have their Platinum card swiped to enter. Now the system will recognize you as being eligible to enter after scanning your boarding pass as long as your Platinum card has been added to your virtual wallet on Delta. I obviously wouldn’t rely on this working and would still bring your Platinum card with you, but if you happen to forget it it’s good to know that you should still be able to access the lounge.

Has anyone tried loaning their platinum card to a friend flying Delta recently? Curious if that still works.
Why would that work? Delta is scanning the boarding pass and checking their database to see if you have a Platinum card. A friend’s Platinum card won’t be in the database.
Was referring to presenting a physical card. It worked for me in SEA a few years ago.
Also, name wouldn’t match.
If all else fails, you can try showing the agent your Amex Plat Card via the Amex app. Worth a shot. Or add the card to your Apple Wallet.
funny that you have to have the physical platinum card to enter any Centurion lounges now, previous methods like providing SSN or any card in the same account won’t work anymore.

This was ongoing for a while for me already. Went to the SLC one and they just scanned my pass and that was it.
Interesting how Delta is ok with just scanning your pass whereas Centurion lounges requires pass, ID, and card… just a thought.
I’ve been behind people at Centurion Lounges where they didn’t have their card and the staff has been able to look up their card to confirm entry. Delta obviously has a purchase/wallet tied to this so it’s easier for them to see the history and card attached, so makes sense they can make it a little easier than amex.

You would think that presenting any of your Amex cards should make it really easy for the Centurion Lounge desk staff to determine whether or not to let you in, though.
Delta’s able to see whether or not your Platinum card is on your Delta profile when they scan your pass though. Not sure if Centurion really needs ID on top of pass+card though- what, you might have stolen someone’s boarding pass and card post security? Or someone admitted to the lounge passed it to you so you could sneak in?
