Our Verdict
In the current interest-rate environment, even 1% APY on $25,000 is nice, though it probably wouldn’t get me to change my direct deposit. The more interesting part is the ability to get 3% APY which is terrific. It’s also a soft pull to open the account (no Chex either).
Though limited to 10% of paycheck, there’s no stated limit on how much can earn the 3%; if you have $120,000 in paychecks going to One Finance, you can max this out with $12,000/yr going to the 3% Auto-Save account. According to the current rules, that should be able to continue building year over year as you increase the balance – after 2 years you can have $24,000 earning 3%, after 3 years $36,000, etc. (Of course they can always add a limit or change the rate in the future, but for now it sounds good.)
We’ll add this to our list of Best High Yield Savings Accounts.
Thanks to readers Chris R, AA, and Trey for sending this in.

Expired as of Sept 4
Opened in July. Used Wise for first DD in August. Used Sofi for today's DD. Both coded as "paycheck direct deposit". Eagerly awaiting data points on bonuses posting from OnePay. $100 Rakuten cash back confirmed for 11/15 payment.
You should update this to accurately describe that you had to sign up by August 30th to get the offer. It's dead and doesn't show up on the main website.

Anyone who opened in July get their bonus yet?
Opened near end of June, so my promo period was July and Aug. Did 5k+ of Chase Business payroll both months which upgraded me to Cash+. Still no bonus.
@guest_2070038 I opened near end of June. My two-month promo period was 7/1 to 8/31. Made $5000+ deposits from Wise in July and Aug. Got upgraded to Cash+ (indication of eligible DDs). No bonus yet as of 9/1. The terms say they have 15 days after the end of the 2nd month to pay out, so I'm not concerned yet.
When I opened in the very beginning of July, under Limited Time Offer ad/sign, it stated Direct Deposit $5k+ into your OnePay Cash account in July and August to earn $300 cash back so I made the $5k+ DD in Jul&Aug. I didn't actually read the terms so the ad sign may have been reffering to those who opened in June. We will see in a couple days worse case scenario I will need to make another DD in September if I don't get it.
@guest_2070038 The link in Summer's post below https://www.doctorofcredit.com/one-finance-review-get-up-to-3-apy-with-direct-deposits-25-signup-offer/#comment-2133078 has the following info "Customers who open a OnePay Cash account between July 1 and July 31, 2025 will have a Starter Bonus Term from August 1 to September 30, 2025". I think you'll need to make a DD in Sept to qualify for the bonus.
Extended until October 31, 2025.
Did you find a working link for the $300? I searched Google but couldn't find. On the terms page here, it shows it ended on August 30 2025: https://static.one.app/terms-and-conditions/t/361d4cd8/300TieredDirectDepositPromotion_foracquisitio.html?$web_only=true&_branch_match_id=1288921268085492674&_branch_referrer=H4sIAAAAAAAAA8soKSkottLXz89L1S1PTdJLLCjQy8nMy9ZP1Tc2MAgoys/N1zUwMzK1rytKTUstKsrMS49PKsovL04tsnXOAEqnAgC8yjPrQgAAAA%3D%3D
Sorry for the messy link. Tia
@guest_2069047 You're correct that the promo has ended on 8/30/25. Although your link shows "Promotion Terms: June 23, 2025 - October 31, 2025", it also shows "Customers who open a OnePay Cash account between August 1 and August 30, 2025 will have a Starter Bonus Term from September 1 to October 31, 2025". So the last day to open a OnePay account for this promo was Aug 30, 2025. This promo was not "Extended until October 31, 2025" as John posted.
offer dead
Nope. The offer still shows up when you apply and it shows up under every screen. Offer expires 8/30/25. So, as long as one gets approved by 8/30/25, should be good to go.
doh! missed it by a day, it seems
$300 promo already dead?
I opened my account in July and pushed $5,000+ in DD during that month and got upgraded to Cash+.
However, I forgot to push the same amount in August. So now can I keep pushing $5,000+ in Sept AND Oct and still get the $300? Please enlighten me, thanks!
If you opened your account any time in July, you needed to push 5k in both Aug and Sept (not July, dd in July doesn't count). Since you missed Aug, you don't qualify for the bonus.
"Customers who open a OnePay Cash account between July 1 and July 31, 2025 will have a Starter Bonus Term from August 1 to September 30, 2025."
scrambly https://scrambly.io/offers/1771 as $130 bonus , if anyone wants to quick payout vs Rakuten 12 weeks wait.
I can was able to redeem $90 bonus for current fintech bonus. Payout was pretty quick.
@guest_2105820 I see $120 with your link. and how can you redeem their points, on what? you said you redeem $130 for $90 ? can you explain? as I don't know the site. thanks
Hey , sorry couldn't reply early. scrambly was showing me $130 when added the comment but shows me $120 for me now.
$90 which I was referring , was for Current Checking account(one of the fintech). When you login to scrambly , you do have option to show balance as USD vs points. It's usually 100:1.
@guest_2105820 i see, what ways to redeem money? transfer to your bank?
I redeemed to PayPal, it was super quick.
After a valid DD posted, do you receive an email acknowledgment or your account upgraded to Cash+ or something?
I pushed $100 from Sofi to OnePay as initial funding, I have not received any email acknowledgment from OnePay after posting. They categorized the type of transact as "paycheck direct deposit", but description as "Sofi Bank(Transfer)", wondering if that works as DD. anyone successfully got the bonus with Sofi push?
It seems they categorize everything as DD, but if they manually review it, it's apparent it is a fake DD
@guest_2129884 I sent $5000+ from Wise to OnePay in July and August with "PAYROLL" in the Remark field. They were recorded as "Type of transaction: Paycheck direct deposit" with the description "WISE US INC (PAYROLL) PAYROLL". My account was upgraded to Cash+ after the first deposit from Wise was received.
is there a write-up on Wise? I am not familiar...
If you search on YouTube for "wise run on the bank" RJ has a decent overview of it.
Yah, upgrade to cash+ is a sure sign.
They code everything as "paycheck direct deposit", it means nothing.
Did you use Wise balance transfer? did you scheduled the transfer in advance and how many days in advance?
@guest_2130528
Short answer: I clicked the Send button in Wise at 1:45pm 8/1/25 (a Friday). It showed "Arrives by 8/5/25 (Tuesday)". But OnePay received the money around 4:30pm same day 8/1/25.
Long answer: I've had a Wise personal account for several years to send/receive money overseas. The account was managed in Wise using my name and email address, I didn't have the routing/account number. So in July I deposited $20 into my Wise account for them to disclose the routing/account number. With that info, I linked my Wise account to Ally and ACH $5000 from Ally to Wise. Then I set up my OnePay account as a Recipient in Wise. After that, I "SEND" $5010 from my Wise balance to my OnePay account. When using your Wise balance, the fee is very low (about $1.50 to send $5010). If you use money from an external account linked to Wise, the fee would be around $15 to send $5010. It appears that if you initiate the Send before 2pm Central Time, the Recipient receives the money before 5pm Central the same day.
I sent money from Wise to Onepay in July using the same process but didn't take screenshots, so I used my August deposit as the datapoint.
