Our Verdict
In the current interest-rate environment, even 1% APY on $25,000 is nice, though it probably wouldn’t get me to change my direct deposit. The more interesting part is the ability to get 3% APY which is terrific. It’s also a soft pull to open the account (no Chex either).
Though limited to 10% of paycheck, there’s no stated limit on how much can earn the 3%; if you have $120,000 in paychecks going to One Finance, you can max this out with $12,000/yr going to the 3% Auto-Save account. According to the current rules, that should be able to continue building year over year as you increase the balance – after 2 years you can have $24,000 earning 3%, after 3 years $36,000, etc. (Of course they can always add a limit or change the rate in the future, but for now it sounds good.)
We’ll add this to our list of Best High Yield Savings Accounts.

Rakuten now down to $50
Make sure you check your portal accounts track!
P1, rakuten tracked and went pending same day the first 500 ach posted from fido.
P2, rakuten click tracked, *did not go pending*, had to file missing claim, rakuten asked for "order number" and "order confirmation" which obviously isn't something one has for a onepay account opening. Forwarded them some stuff. Hope it's enough.
@guest_2097459 I opened my OnePay account through Rakuten. For OnePay entry In "Shopping Trips"-->Details shows:
Shopping Trip: 597182nnnn
Order number: AA-GucjjU9ezxxxx
Order amount: $0.00
Yes, P2 has a shopping trip, but no order number
I tested with transfers from CapitalOne Venmo. Both are coded as ACH.
You can see if your account says Cash, or Cash+ , right away after your ACH posts, no need to wait. And if you click into the ACH you can see if it says "direct deposit". The offer terms specifically say venmo doesn't qualify
@guest_2097047 Does that mean it qualifed for the bonus or not qualified. Did your account get upgraded to OnePay Cash Plus?
Too early to say as I opened the account only a few days ago. I agreed with @guest_2094805 that it's better to be safe than sorry so I'll stick with Wise and Chase. I'm guessing Fidelity might work so I'll test that next.
Failed to link Fidelity as OnePay allows only Plaid, which doesn't support individual accounts on Fidelity.
You (can) link from the fidelity end using the manual EFT form
I linked my OnePay checking account's routing number & account number to my Ally Savings. Just pulled $4K from OnePay to Ally today.
why is people tryhard pushing fake DD for 5k, the bonus only need 1500
$1500+ per month = $50 bonus
$5000+ per month = $300 bonus
Just noticed that Rakuten is back up to $100.
Can we combine it with $300 offer?
@guest_2096935 Yes. I opened my account account a couple of days ago and the Rakuten bonus shows pending.
Can we combine it with $300 offer?
I'm seeing a lot of comments about folks using employer payroll or Wise to trigger the DD requirement for the $300 bonus. Is that necessary? The way I read the terms it looks like any ACH should work:
A “Direct Deposit” is defined as an electronic deposit through the Automated Clearing House (“ACH”) Network or an electronic deposit by Original Credit Transaction (“OCT”) of payroll, pension, government benefits (such as Social Security), and other payments sent to your OnePay Cash account. For the avoidance of doubt, peer to peer transfer (e.g. One to One, Venmo, & Cash app), and attempted deposits that are either returned or canceled before the funds settle are not Direct Deposits.
Rather than chance it, I'm gonna use real employer DD for OnePay since I can split my paycheck between 4 banks and I can (just barely) meet the requirements of all four.
An early DP for DD: pushed $5001 from Chase Personal, and it coded as:
JPMorgan Chase (Ext Trnsfr)
Type of Transaction: Paycheck direct deposit
Adding OnePay to Chase as an external account was a pain, though. I tried adding it right away in order to get the trial deposits started, but it was too soon and they didn't go through. Then I added it again two days later, and the trial deposits went through, but when I tried to schedule the transaction I got a call from Chase that the transaction was cancelled and the OnePay account was removed because it looked fraudulent to send money to myself. The rep recommended I first push money from OnePay into Chase and then add the account again. So I pushed some of my initial deposit from OnePay to Chase, and then added OnePay as an external account again, and this time Chase allowed me to do the transfer after sending a text asking me to confirm that it wasn't fraudulent.
why can't I find the external transfer button on my chase personal account...
@guest_2096445 I just checked this...Logged into my Chase account using my Windows laptop. In my Total Checking account there's a blue "Transfer Money" button. Clicked on that and it showed: Transfer Money, Schedule Transfer, Transfer Activity, External Accounts.
Thx! before I saw ur message I use chase app to directly tranfer $500 to my Onepay but fortunately it was coded as DD and today I just got the email from Rakuten, confirmed with the 125$ bonus.
I opened via Rakuten $125 with $300 bonus stack not sure if it is supposed to be tracked under shopping trips with a check mark beside order placed. Seems odd though that it is saying $0 for Order Amount and Cash Back amount. Can anyone confirm if this is normal and should I contact customer service?

Has anyone pushed the $5000 out of one pay? Don’t want to get the account locked.
I pushed it out the next day without issue (I got a text to confirm the transaction). I only risked it because of prior pushes with smaller amount having no issues when the account is new
I also received a text if I iniated transfer YES or NO. It went through just fine and I pushed out the next day.
I don't think that I've ever had that much money in my One accounts but I think doing that should be fine. What makes you think that One locks people's accounts for pushing money out? If you are worried, pull it out instead.
Ugh, hate when bonuses require exact alignment with calendar months, but then also have early paycheck deposits which complicates scheduling/allocating real DDs for the bonus.
Anyone know exactly how early the paycheck is credited? 1 day early or 2?
