Earlier this month airline alliance oneworld celebrated the 20th anniversary of its launch. As part of that launch they announced plans to open oneworld alliance-branded and managed lounges. The first location will be unveiled later in 2019. CEO Rob Gurney stated:
By working together, it may be feasible at some locations for our members to offer customers improved facilities – bigger and better lounges than they could justify individually.
It’ll be interesting to see what these branded lounges look like and if they will simply replace existing oneworld partner airline lounges or if they will be forced to offer these in addition to existing lounges.
