Rakuten & Samsung Wallet have announced a new partnership. U.S. Galaxy users are able to earn cashback directly to their Samsung Cash Card and spend those rewards directly.
There is a sign up bonus of 10% extra cashback up to an additional $50, but you might as well use a referral link as that gives you $50 back for spending $50+. Unless Rakuten is offering increased rates or a cashback boost when spending rewards I don’t really see the advantage of this to have a regular Rakuten account. Especially when a normal Rakuten account can earn American Express Membership Rewards or Bilt points as well.
