Paypal Partners with Walmart for Reloads & Withdrawals with $3 Fee

Paypal and Walmart have partnered to allow the loading and cashing out of a Paypal account at Walmart stores for a $3 fee.

PayPal cash-in is already available at Walmart, and PayPal cash-out will be available at all Walmart U.S. locations by early November.

They tout this mainly as a way for the unbanked to be able to get cash from their Paypal accounts. For points hobbyists, the more interesting part is that of loading your Paypal account at Walmart since they traditionally accept PIN-based debit cards as valid payment method for money load. You can already do Paypal MyCash loads at many retails like CVS, but typically only cash is accpeted. At Walmart, PIN-based debit should work too.

Overall, it’s not too exciting since there is a $500 max per load and a $3 fee per load. If you have a compliant Walmart, you’ll probably do better buying money orders, paying bills, or loading a prepaid card for no fee. Besides, it’s Paypal we’re dealing with, and personally I don’t think it’s worth messing with them.

The post says “you’ll probably do better buying money orders, paying bills, or loading a prepaid card for no fee.”

Which prepaid cards can be loaded with no fee?

Yeah f*** Paypal. I don’t even MS and they shut me down, my wife’s account and my brother’s without warning, explanation or anything. I knew it’s pointless and waste of time to contact them for this, so whatever.
Also they get to keep whatever funds we have in there for 6 months too. Claiming they need it in case buyers need refund

Now I refuse to use their services (Venmo too since same company) anywhere possible ( I did create another pp account because i need to sell on Ebay)

Not sure MS has anything to do with shutdowns with Paypal. Unlike the banks, They earn 2.9% off of the balance of the amount being MS’d and lose nothing from the bank paying out the bonus. As long as they get their money, they’re happy. Sounds like they considered a sale you made a high risk transaction.

Ive been in a similar situation. Paypal locked my account for 6 months and limited my account. I got my money back and closed the account.

I still do have a primary paypal account because i have a 2% back credit card with them. If they freeze my account, then it just means I cant pay my credit card bill. Then They dont have any of my money.

Never keep money in paypal, ever. As soon as you get money into paypal from your ebay sales, withdrawl all of it. Paypal doesnt deserve to hold any of my money.

You had to have done something. And if you’re too scared to call customer service to straighten it out, that’s on you.
