PayPal & Synchrony have agreed to extended their co-branded credit card partnership. In addition Synchrony will become the issuer of a Venmo co-branded credit card, this new card is expected to launch in the second half of 2020. Venmo users will be able to apply for the card and manage their account in app, they will also be able to set up real time alerts and. At this time it’s not clear what the earning structure will be or if there will be any sign up bonus on this card.
Announced today http://blog.venmo.com/2020/10/1/introducing-the-venmo-credit-card
seems interesting
I’d guess 2% flat, just like they offer on the Paypal Mastercard. Maybe with one additional bonus category to differentiate it.
Venmo is meant for a younger demographic. They better be careful – synchrony doesn’t make the best mobile apps.
Venmo has awful awful customer service… would avoid this like the plague!!
Since Synchrony is the issuer, they will probably be be the ones managing the customer service aspect for the card. You can see this with all the co-branded relationships they have which includes the PayPal MasterCards.
Has anyone been able to use Venmo to unload VGCs lately?
Why would the average person want a Venmo credit card?
Well if it offers 5% cash back on all purchases I assume everybody would want it. We have no idea how useful or useless this card will be, still interesting they are launching a card.
