The Offer
Plastiq sent out a targeted email with the following offer:
- Refer a business to Plastiq with your unique referral code and you’ll each get $2,500 in no-fee payments on Plastiq
- Referral bonus will post after the new member makes $100 payment with a business card
Initially, you’ll see the regular $400 referral bonus, but after the referee makes a $100 business card payment, you’ll see the full amount within a couple days. (HT: r/churning)
I’m guessing that they can see if the card is a business credit card based on the BIN, and they’ll manually credit your account the remaining referral bonus if a business card was used to make the first payment.
Search for email subject “Interested in 2,500 fee-free dollars?” to find it.
The Fine Print
- No limit as to how many businesses you can refer
- The new business must make $100 payment by March 31 to be eligible
According to what we were told by Plastiq, to qualify for the $2,500 FFD offer, you have to refer a business and they’ll have to make a business payment with a business card. They’ve also confirmed that this offer is targeted only to select accounts who’ve received this email.
Our Verdict
This is an excellent offer both for a business who wants to begin using Plastiq and for an existing member who has a business to refer. Assuming you value credit card spend at 2%, it would amount to a $50 value. The standard referral offer from Plastiq is $400 in free processing for referrer and $200 in free processing for new member.
The referral code for business referrals is the same as for personal, just if you were targeted with this offer and you refer a business, they’ll give you each $2500 in free processing instead of the standard amount.

In order to verify that you got this offer, you must link to a tweet or some other image (like Imgur or some social media platform) that shows a screenshot of the offer from your email along with the referral code (it all shows in the email). The screenshot should look similar to the screenshot shown above, just include another bit more underneath that which shows your referral code as well. You don’t need to show your name.
