Plaza Premium Group Wants To Introduce Coworking Spaces To Airports

Plaza Premium Group (PPG) founder and CEO Song Hoi-See has expressed interest in opening and operating coworking spaces in airports. According to Song the spaces would be dramatically different to a traditional airport lounge. The first airport they would like to operate a coworking space is HKIA and Song envisages that they would need to 7,000 to 8,000 worth of space.

What’s confusing to me is how exactly this would be different to a traditional lounge. In an interview with South China Morning Post Song talks about having a lot of interactive offerings and healthy food but again I don’t see how that can’t be accomplished in a traditional lounge setting.
