I get an error every time I try to buy the Southwest GC. Says “Something went wrong on our end
We’re sorry, we’re having some trouble completing your request right now. Please try again shortly.”

Limit 2 on Southwest for me. Earlier Slickdeals comments seemed to indicate the limit was 5 but doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

Thanks. I have the citi paypal $25 offer. Bought the home depot gift card, out of pocket should be $75, pretty good deal.

Does hotels.com gift card balance transfer online tool work to anyone? It doesn’t work for me for a few months now. Do you always call them to combine gift cards or is there any other option?

It’s not working. Seems to me they intentionally turned it down and you have to call to transfer. And they will ask so many questions about where you bought it, when you bought it. It is ridiculous.

I bought two $50 hotels.com gift cards and received them within a few minutes. Used Discover for 5% back (actually 10% back since it’s my first year under cash back match). Everything was legit, I already called hotels.com and had them merge them onto one card. For some reason the online tool is down.

I believe they are having issues since I placed my order about an hour ago and no email yet.

when i find a nice price on hotels.com it often tells me gift cards can’t be used for that stay.
kinda sucks.

Well that sounds like complete bullshit to me. Do they have a disclaimer telling you that when buying them?

You can use the search filter to exclude hotels that do not accept hotels.com gift cards.

Wow you just saved me from wasting a hundred bucks… I checked the hotel I was about to book and sure enough gift cards were excluded from the listing. So a deep felt Thanks for mentioning!

Interesting. I often read it in discussions but never experienced it myself. I have booked around 30 hotels on hotels.com within the last 2 years and never had a problem. And the hotels included everything from lowcost motels to luxury 5* chain hotels and also across many continents (Europe, Americas, Oceania). The only point is that the hotel must accept pre payment and not only pay-in-hotel option.

I did run into one recently, it was a discount resort. Other than that, I’ve never had issues in booking around 15 hotels previously.

That doesn’t sound right. At the moment I don’t have any bank account linked on my PayPal, just Discover and Chase card. Discover is set as my preferred card. It’s selected by default and I use it to pay every time wherever I can pay with PayPal this quarter.

I haven’t been able to use Discover on any of these Paypal deals either. Always says I have to use another form of payment.

Same issue here. Trying to use Discover as preferred Paypal method to buy an Amtrak GC on Paypal’s PPDG.
