Our Verdict

50,000 points is good towards $100 off a future booking. Keep in mind this only works on participating properties. Seems like a pretty good deal, especially if you can find a relatively cheap two night stay. This promotion is big enough for it to change my booking behavior (something that can’t be said of the most recent major hotel promotions). Feel free to share any great deals in the comments.

Always check Hotel directly before using I Prefer. Stuck with rate higher than they advised 2 days later. Nonrefundable rates are excluded from lowest price rate guarantee, even when the lower rate is published by I prefer.

https://cm-in.americanexpress.com/iPreferElite?elqTrackId=517f3abc30524583a90d3fe127931959&elq=00000000000000000000000000000000&elqaid=81&elqat=2&elqCampaignId=

That’s the promotion website. You enroll by clicking the link that says: “You can enrol for the iPrefer Elite Tier membership online at http://www.iprefer.com/amexindia

Or, just go straight to this link which is where it redirects to with the enrollment code anyway.
https://preferredhotels.com/iprefer/enroll?enrollcode=amexin

The Promo is from Amex Corporate Platinum of India, but it will work with any Platinum if you enroll. I and relatives of mine have already been the DP’s.

There are a few other Hotel memberships and such that are “exclusive” to the different Platinum cards worldwide. But once you find the promo code or link in the terms, you will find it works with any Platinum card.

Nice find and great info! Any chance this matches to anything meaningful?

I haven’t attempted to match anything with it yet, but as it normally takes $5,000 in Hotel spend to get elite status through stays with iPrefer, I would imagine that it would be matched to a decent level in any other program.

For ex. Hilton Diamond in affordable stays would only cost ~$1750.

On a whim, I decided to check Best Western. I was just able to match iPrefer elite to BW Diamond. I’m gonna try a few more status matches shortly, and I will post the results.

yea. thats also the only website I saw the amex plat benefit with this program. im assuming your status was actually honored for a recent hotel stay? if so, great. but the TC clearly mentions the promo was over last year. if you download the PDF TC, its spelled out. not to mention many here do not hold Corp Plat from India. that doesnt mean it wont work and doesnt hurt to try and retain lifetime status, but people should know its not an active promo, let alone a promo even in the US market.

I made that clear, I thought, when I said that it was a promo from Amex of India that seems to work in other places as well.

I have no problem putting a YMMV on it, though. I just know that it worked for me and has worked for others even as recently as last night. I can also say that I have had no problems with my status being recognized in my travels to Mex City with iPrefer and even Fiesta Hotels. (The hotel partnership with Amex Platinum of Mexico).

I do know that the terms I linked to list dates through Dec 2018, so they are at least the current version. I can’t speak, however,to whether iPrefer has updated their site language or not. It is just the start of the new year.

Either way, feel free to take advantage while it lasts, or not. I did.

I’d love to hear DP of status match attempts though if anyone gives it a go.

I just (tried) to sign up for this, we’ll see whether it comes through. I did go looking to see if there’s a current version of this page that doesn’t say expires in 2017, and IN seems to have radisson rewards gold and a couple of Indian based things, but there’s a handful of platinum variants to look through (vanilla?, platinum travel, platinum reserve).

Looks like it’s linked here:

https://www.americanexpress.com/in/benefits/platinum-reserve-card/index.html … same link, but the “detailed Terms & Conditions” no longer say lifetime: “Post enrollment, if the Cardmember does not qualify the eligibility criteria within one calendar year from the date of issuance of membership, he/she will be downgraded to the Silver Tier”
