Save your points. I recently returned from the Radisson Blu Maldives. That is an aspirational property easily worth 70k Radisson points per night for an overwater bungalow with private pool. I have been nothing but disappointed with Radisson properties in the US.
Well, the problem is that most of the Radisson properties in the USA are Country Inns. These are generally OK properties, but generally the kind of places I would just stay a night if I needed a place to sleep. You do need to read the online reviews, though, since some of the Country Inns are a bit like bad Choice Hotels — they don’t have the brand standards of, say, IHG or Hilton. Still, for some people in specific situations, this could be a good promotion.

Seems like a good deal. I suspect I’m not the only one who has a bunch of Radisson points lying around from the annual credit card bonus (I got the card when it offered 2-for-1 award stays, and kept it because the annual point bonus is worth more than the annual fee). Most of Radisson’s attractive properties are overseas, so my points have been piling up the last couple of years.
I assume there’s no prohibition on earning the free night by booking 2 nights at their “RewardSaver” discount rate? If not, this could be a very attractive offer, if you can find a Radisson hotel you’re willing to stay at. My recent experience at a Country Inns wasn’t great, but wasn’t terrible either.
