Radisson Rewards Separates U.S. Rewards Program

Update 6/17/21: Program has now been separated. Keep in mind the devaluation as well.

Radisson Rewards has announced that in June will launch a dedicated loyalty program, Radisson Rewards Americas, to reward members who stay at hotels in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Existing account holders based in those regions will be converted to the new program RadissonHotelsAmericas.com. If you want to continue to earn/redeem points on Radisson Rewards properties outside those areas you’ll need to create a new account on RadissonHotels.com. According to the F.A.Q it will be possible to transfer points between these programs at a 1:1 rate.

I can’t really work out why they would do this with the 1:1 transfer point rate. I guess there could be plans to sell of the U.S. properties in the future and this could possibly make this easier.

Just created my new account with the international program. Anyone know how to link the two?

Does the point transfer between the Radisson Americas program and the international program counts as the activity towards the two year point expiration rule? Anyone knows? If yes, then it will be super easy to keep points from expiration.

Can not find the rewards points expiration date on the new radissonhotelsamericas.com website. Anyone knows what the expiration rule is for the new US rewards program, and do they start counting after the split?

I’m expecting three E-Certs this fall. Can I use them in Europe?

This is a big clusterfuck. I spent 3 hrs on the phone to find out my account is trapped in the Europe Radisson and when I am finally able to sign in there it does not show my 260,000 points but 0. I guess it will be another 3 hrs of my time tomorrow that I will not get back.

LOL, I can log on to my radisson.com account and it has zero points. I cannot log on to my https://www.radissonhotelsamericas.com/ account which presumably has all the points. Anybody else has that issue ? Just checked FT, seems like a common problem. Hoping they will fix it eventually and soon.

The points are now showing on my account. For some weird reason my account was assigned to the “global” radisson, which I am fine with – I plan to use my stash of points abroad, if at all possible.

Ok, so the split is live now. All the points are gone. Thank you Radisson.

Spouse & I are sitting on a zillion Shanghai Raddyshack points in our accounts, plus another five or so free US nights (4 to expire next quarter)…. As long as the 1 for 1 transfer actually holds, refraining from the sky-is-falling reaction… (have long given up on Raddyshack in the US…. the current extreme dilapidated status of the once glorious Radisson Melbourne, FL location speaks volumes of what’s left of the entire program. (Property for years was on various ten best aspirational places to use Club Carlson cc-earned annual free nights. It’s so bad now with that Melbourne, FL property that they “resort” to censoring out negative reviews on Tripadvisor from appearing on their corresponding Radisson web site, even though those very horrendous reviews originated “in partnership with Radisson”….. sic) Reminds me of how the once fabled Baymont at Virginia Beach for years kept promising upgrades — only to be demolished quietly last year….. Maybe that’s coming with what’s left of Raddyshack for the US.

ps, wonder if pointchaser or anybody has the nerve to update their past top ten “aspir-ational” US spots for Radisson free nights…? Only place I can think of deserving the accolade, of anything other than lots of “aspir-in,” would be the Country Inn & Suites “accidental” gem at Kalispell Montana. (yes, startling setting near the airport @ Glacier NP…. I say “accidental gem,” because as I heard the story (just after it opened), the owner there told the Club Carlson chain higher ups she was going to build it the way she wanted and flouted their guidelines “royally”…. as in gorgeous wood everywhere, etc….. priceless now — and all too rare now… ?)

I’ve only kept Radisson to one day use the points for a trip to Europe (where they have nice hotels) so this sucks,

Can we still transfer our points to airlines after this?
