Our Verdict

The better cards usually go fast. Remember to use a shopping portal, just keep in mind the lifetime limitations there.

Just out of curiosity, if someone buys a gift card on raise, uses it 2 weeks later, and then 3 months later complains to raise and says the card was used by someone else, how does raise know if they are telling the truth? Does raise automatically believe the buyer?

They won’t know for sure, but the exact investigation process they go through is probably a closely held secret to prevent people from gaming it.

They may get in touch with the retailer to find the location the card was used. They will take into account your past history with them and the seller’s past history. If it’s a small value they will probably just eat the refund fee out of their large margins. For a larger value they may want to see a police report or do a more thorough investigation.

Just out of curiosity ha? I had a problem where the cards were used in California and I live in Florida. I had loss prevention from Home Depot help me out because I spend sh$t load of money there. I sumbited all the paperwork to raise and they refunded. I dont think the 5-7% discount it’s worth the hassle IMO.
