55″ LG C8 OLED for $1600 and about $600 back in points is a good deal. They usually have some good deals on SSD cards which I have been able to sell in order to turn my points into cash.

https://www.rakuten.com/shop/wholesaleconnection/product/OLED55C9P/ .

Buying this with a CC that still offers Price Protection would get this down further. That is how I bought my C8 through Rakuten last year with my Discover card, which netted my cost down to $850 or so.

Barclay is good through 11/1, so should be able to get $250 back from them by showing a lower price. YMMV. Citi/Discover didn’t have a problem that I showed reward points coming back but I suppose Barclay or someone could decide to take that off the price in a comparison.

My United Explorer Business still has Visa $500 price back protection. They are sending me the terms. They said over the phone it doesn’t need to be a local add printout. Internet price is fine to match to. It excludes seasonal sales, such as Black Friday.

Could probably therefore buy the C8 for $500 net cost plus tax on $1600 as long as I could show internet price of $1100 or less. Just found one place for $1000 for example. Not sure how easy it is to get their price protection through, and I don’t need another TV, lol. But I might give this a try on something.

Just got their PDF on protection and csr was correct:
• If you purchase an eligible item with your Account in the United
States and see a Printed Advertisement at any retail store or
Non-auction Internet Advertisement for less within ninety (90)
days of the original purchase date, simply file a valid claim and
the Benefit Administrator will reimburse you the difference up to
five hundred ($500.00) dollars for each item. Price Protection
is limited to twenty-five hundred ($2,500.00) dollars a year for
each Account.

Glad I kept this card. Going to look for some other things I might need which give back 30% back in points or so.

Should edit above to say C9 not C8. Also someone else had comment if you go it is available from another Rakuten vendor for $1496.

Also, what do terms mean per customer, per household? Does this mean wife and I couldn’t both get the 50K because we are in the same household? Or could there be 3 customers in the same household and all three could get it?

I understand what per Customer would mean and I also understand what per Household would mean. But I don’t know what is meant by per customer, per household.

For the shopping, not portal.

Isn’t this effectively 31% cashback on dell products? Most of their products appear to be on this online store (ie I realize this isn’t a portal offer)… seems like a pretty good deal?

No this is for the shopping site, not the portal. Amex Plat will not trigger Dell credit.

Thats what I was wondering. It is weird them being both a portal and a shopping site.

If I’m understanding correctly there are some sweet deals on OLED TV’s. For instance anything Dell is selling on Rakuten will get 30% back in points.

Additional 18% on this 55″ C9, which would bring it under $1000. Not sure that I would have a use for the points though. https://www.rakuten.com/shop/electronic-express/product/OLED55C9P/?l-id=similar_items_0
